S3 Sideskirts

So if you have to changed other parts on the car to suit the new part, that aint a straight fit.

Oh and lee_r , I never said they didn't fit, I was letting him know the answer to his question. They are not a straight swap. Geez pal!

Yea thats what i meant... So apart from the door pieces, What are these door sill parts that i need to change?

cheers

Thanks folks for help, but is the door bottom pieces the same as the door sill parts? or are these seperate bits?

Cheers

There are 3 parts per side, the sill, the front wing cap & the door trim. If you look at the other thread where I posted some pics you can see the 3 different pieces as they are all different colours LOL

add: You will also need the scuff plates too - I forgot about them as they were already on my sills as I bought 2nd hand.

Not direct fit to me is putting a TT dash in a mk2 Golf!:o.k:

Its a 5 minute job to swap the weather strips. You just need to bend your knees a bit and do a bit of unbolting. Some people are over emphasising the size of the job saying they are door bottoms! Reality is they are just thin weather strips. The S3 has shorter ones to clear the skirts.
If thats not direct fit, I dont know what is? :rockwoot:

My beef with them is the price......they are so expensive for what is essentially a few stips of plastic!

Thanks for the replys... anyone care to tell me how much this is going to end up costing..:(:( lol

I forget what I paid as it was a while back but I remember thinking at the time OUCH! LOL. I bought the actual sills 2nd hand (hence the colour) and they came with the S3 scuff plates which are also expensive too.

About £400 if you get the bits new, then theres the painting on top!

It was 2 years ago when I did a set for a mate, I read somewhere that prices changed since then so dont hold me to that!
