just to let you guys know i fitted the new dip stick pipe and with no problems :D - excellent work i must say

2nd) just had my mot today and it passed with flying colours - only advisory was that there was slight play on the steering...the mot was free as there is some promotional offer and open at all audi garages :D - i would def recommend taking advantage of this while the offers available!

3) i did have a problem with my audi as it was juicing alot of engine oil but after speaking to audi they advised me to use semi synthetic engine oil as this is thicker and shud help the issue of my car juicing it down - i currently use the helix 5w30 but to me it seems much too thin for the age of my 51 car...tell me if u have the same problem?

I got my car serviced by audi in november and at the start of january the oil light came on and it is the first time that has ever happened before the service the car never needed oil and i had done over 10000 miles but was told the rocker cover gasket needed replacing!!!

I use Castrol Magnatec 10w40, but have been advised to try the Mobil 1 of the same grade, so might give that a go at the next oil change.

10w40 in an s3? thats not what my first choice would be

Always used it and not had any probs with it, also know quite a few others that also use 10w40 too, what you using Matt??

I just find the 5w too thin.

Scott have you had your rocker cover gasket sorted yet? the reason I ask is I had the same problem only it went un-noticed for a good while and oil flom the leak ended up finding its way to and contaminating my clutch!

Matt

Matt.... mines just been done, its a right **** with the amount of stuff you have to move, also worth taking off the coil wiring and stripping the protective black layer to see if any have split...... let me know if you want any pointers mate
