Ive had an idea that i would like to get a new flip key fob and wondered if i jus need the outer case and could transfer my spare key insides and blade onto it?

That guide is a good find might buy one off ebay and try, need to get vag-com though or see if the local vw specialist will help me out

Thanks for the guide

open your key up by pulling the push button section and the flip key section apart, it is printed inside of the push button part along with the part number

Thanks, where do you find it on the new style key?

ha, u got me there, never seen one of the newer keys and I can't see it on that first guide anywhere! :)

i looked on there too! haha, does the frequency have to completely match? IE, mine is 433.44 for example, but can it be 433.** ??

Hi Ive done this mod. dead easy to to do hardest part was removing the imob chip from the B6 Key. its glued in and needs heat to get it out. Ive done both my keys now....

Woop! just won one of the new style keys! Bargain price too :) Lets hope it works!

Anyone know where i can get the blades cut? two places i called today said no... :(

So we get a b7 key, swap the immob chip and fit your existing blade,so what part do we need vag-com for?? is this just for the remote locking part of things in which case the new key must be the same mghz as your old one??
Anyone clear this up for me?
