In response to my post about changing my a3 from gold to white buy vehicle wraping (see post any white A3/S3 out there pics please) there is an opportunity for a group buy its based in enfield north london so i was thinking off people around the south east area but anyone is welcome if they are willing to travel and its not just for 8l cars any make of car is welcome and all colurs availble they even do full carbon or chrome wraps if u want to be diffrent the company is http://www.totally-dynamic.co.uk/ they are a franchine company so have bases all over the uk but this group buy is for there north london enfield office i was thinking off maybe setting this up for 2/3 months time there is a 3 week waiting list at the moment but i think 2/3 months is enough time for people to get the money together and decide on witch colours to go for etc. The group buy is set up under the Name DONALD group buy and if you call them ask to speak to NATALIE or email them with the subject of for the atention of NATALIE as shto do e is the one that will sort us out the discount. ok the process takes 48hrs to do an they require you to take the car the evining before in clean condition eg drop car of monday evening pic it up Wednesday evening there is a £300 deposit to be paid just before the date to the company .

my quotes before i asked about the group buy so these should be reduced were

full wrap in gloss white £1080 plus extra £200 for the door shuts so all in £1280

full wrap pearl white £1300 plus extra £220 for door shuts so all in £1520

then extras i was thinking about were carbon mirrrors were £25 each and the carbon bonnet was extra £60 but im just gona go all white but there a rough idea of the extras

so if anyones intrested the best thing to do is look at there website and speek to them for your own quotes remembering to speak to NATALIE and quote Donald group buy you can also pm me so i can keep count of howmany people are seriously intrested the more the better discount hope to here from a few of you soon also remember to tell your friends as any cars are welcome not just audis

im no expert but im sur eyou can get it cheaper then that. there was someone on 8p section with a black then white rs4, im sure it wasnt that much. like i said im no expert though.

i phoned a few companys and was quoted more than i was buy this one but maybe you can get it cheeper elswere but they are a very reputable company and the quality of the vinyl is very high compared to some but these prices should be reduced if we get people on board im open to other ideas if people can get it sorted also some people who know people in this industry might be able to get it done cheeper thats why they say it only cost them so much but to the general public i belive these are fair prices

I want mine stealth-wrapped, so you can't see it on radar.

I've been quoted £100 to have just my roof done in gloss black - dunno if i'll go ahead with it though.

a freind of mine keeps going on about viynal wrapping but to me seems completly pointless will only last 3-5 years cant do the engine bay even with the door shuts done the hinges etc will not be able to be done surely the original colour of the car will always be on show somewhere, i can get my car resprayed by my local paint shop for £1400 and £1600 for colour change inc engine bay, not much in price between paint and wrapping but paint will far out last viynal and your never be able to tell the original colour of the car after.
i no you can get resprays cheaper but for a reason imo plus this is a bmw approved shop

I used to have a matt black vinyl wrapped Elise. Looked very stealth, but made the car difficult to sell on because people were concerned about what the paintwork condition was like underneath, and although they say you can take the vinyl off again if you wish, it is meant to be a PITA and very difficult to do properly without damaging the paint.

they will take the engine out do a full respay engine back in for £1600 thats very cheap have you got there number cause ill book it in now

no need to remove the engine just remove all bits around it take off engine mounts etc but yeah seemed cheap to me too, i did say id do most the engine bay stripping though as im in the trade and the price was a trade cash price no invoice,

whats the finish like can you see joins etc or does it look as good as painting??

s3 kev there is no joins just use whole sheets bigger than the pannels an when the do the side the sheet is bigger than the car finnish is awsome no orange peel in vinyl

wether your spraying or applying vinyl, the finish is only as good as the person who is doing the job.....and i can tell you ive seen alot of bad in both

the only parts you will see is throught the panel gaps etc...vinyl isnt paint, if you want to remove it at later date vinyl is the way to go, Im over Birmingham so if you would like a single or group buy price let me know :p

id like to see it i think im not massivly convinced, my freind showed me a video of a car being wrapped in the way you describe im more concerned about areas like around vents and grils etc what the finish would be like, but still think id get painted if iam to spend my cash on getting it done also as said above resale could be hard with wrapping, be interested with your conclusion to this

Depends on whos doing the job, ive never had any problems :p

my local company ambient graphics did a lotus elise with a union jack wrap an up close it looked mint all the vents and curves looked better than painted because the wrap was printed as if was flapping in the wind you would never get paint to look like that unless it was airbrushed an if you wana sell the car just remove the wrap an its back to how it was

I do full colour wraps too, feel free to PM me

I think vinyl is the way forward. Please could you post a forum price??? I am sure this will drum up business ;-)

Just had a chat with my colleage price for A3/S3 £950 for single price with £300 deposit.......for group buy we can discount for say 5 wraps. Whoever is heading up the group buy IM me and i will pass on my number. Cheers Rich

Oh and Pearl white is £1150 single price with £300 deposit :)

Can you get you hands on colour charts... and a price list for full wraps (single/ group buy), individual parts, roofs bonnets etc...

I would be interested in the next couple of months (2-3 months)... I still have other more important things to do first (engine/mechanical), but vinyl wrap is on the list after S3 body conversion.

I for one would be extremely interested in a group buy. Price needs to be right though. ;-)

I would be interested too, maybe in matt or satin black finish?? would it be the same price?? Anyone got any pics of this finish??

Sorry to avoid the topic, but do you have a picture of your dolphin grey S3 with tinted windows? I'm thinking of medium smoked tints but not sure what it'll look like... Cheers!

What effect does the condition of the paint underneath have on the wrap - i.e. stone chips, scratches and scrapes, etc? Does the wrap hide them or simply mould to them?
