Hey Guys/Gals....

Well im almost there....i went to view a 51 reg S3 yesterday and it was AMAZING!!! Alot quicker than my remapped MK4 1.8T Golf......

*However* the car has done 99K on the clock? Should i be worried about this? It has two previous owners and the car is in amazing shape mechanically and aesthetically, well apart from the odd scratch here and there!!

Advise is needed guy's....you're the pro's.....

Oh and i only have a budget of around 6 - 6.5K...

Cheers!:icon_thumright:

A highish mileage isn't anything to worry about if it's been serviced properly and had the cambelt done before 70k.
51 plate, is that a post-facelift car?

how much do they want for it, is it within your budget? Im guessing yes. 99K does sound high but its all in the head, if its been looked after then its fine

99k miles is ok. 100,101 = bang. it will just blow up

Condition and history over mileage every time.

Definately! i bought my A3 purely on its condition and the history that came with it! it was quite a high miler when i picked it up

Does the car just suddenly blow up when it hits 100,000?

Apply a bit of common sense in these situations and judge the car on its condition, rather than how many miles it's done.

I agree with the above, Providing it has a good service history and the big one done at 80k i believe it is... should be fine :) You will prolly encounter the normal 1.8T traits sooner down the line.... Thermostats.... coils etc,. but its 10k a year which is average on any market....

Edited, for spelling of a 10 year old.....

Mileage isn't as much of a worry these days, its more of a phsycological thing with any car over 100k
