me and my mate have got exactly the same car (2009 s3). VCDS works fine on my car but when i go to long coding helper on my mates it comes up with 'No coding information is available for this ECU'. All the options are there with the tick boxes but no description of what each box is. Can anyone help why it works fine on my car but not on his?

Ok try this, uninstall vcds from your laptop, then restart & reinstall, then test it on the car that didnt show any information, if it now shows the information then test it on the car that originally worked, its important you follow this procedure as there was a bug with a module a while ago but wasnt ecu & this may ave arisen on others now which will allow me to report to RT mate.

I'm guessing when its installed initially & you test a car it works 1st, but when you test again in that module it loses all the bits descriptions, please advise asap.

It was on my car which this happend but the scan worked fine & came back with no errors. We will do what you said above & report back to you as above when we tryied to change anything it came up with "Error, No coding information available from ECU" but when we clicked ok it went to the check boxes but no description for any of them. We will test it again on Thursday & let you know. T

We have uninstalled version 908 then reinstalled it which didnt work on my car so we tested it back on jons which worked, we then downloaded the 912 beta which did the the same thing. Can you help us out asap. Thanks

Whats the cars 2 build dates please.

In front of service books or delivery info should state the date of the cars mate.

??? Also I think the build date of mine is 08/09, Do you need the other cars build date which is older on a 58 reg? As we would like to get this working on mine asap please

Urm interesting, does yours have any start/stop technology fitted?

Nope, Just has what is in my signature. Where do we go from here about getting it sorted?

I am having the same sort of issue on my car. Sometimes the coding is there and othertimes it says no coding available. That is on one car not switching between cars. It even happens during he same session. Log into a controller everything is there, close the controller then go back in and there is no coding available. Mine is a 2010 A4 built 11/09 using 912 beta. Not sure if the problems are related to this one but thought I would mention it.

If you're a registered user, please send a complete Auto-Scan to Support@Ross-Tech.com so we can see exactly what control modules are installed in the car and what is and isn't documented for them. Please include a link to this thread and tell us exactly what you're trying to do in terms of coding changes.

If you haven't registered your system yet, please do so here first.

Well the perfect person to assist with this, I was going to say, it would appear to me, these cars have new modules not yet known to vagcom & need label files madeup for them, maybe Uwe could elaborate if this is a possibility.

Also I do wonder Uwe is this is similar to the issues with the module 46 I recently sent to Seb, I have seen someone else with a newer module have the same issues as me but wasnt on module 46, I'll have to recall which it was, I'll report back when I find out.

I have now scanned the car, uploaded the log & sent it to ross-tech. I hope to hear something soon so I can get some things changed. Thanks for the help

The solution has already been posted...

...so why not ask the people who create the product? :)

If you send in your details ASAP we may even be able to include the "fix" into the next update.

Does the update also include newer door module versions, like 8P0959801P as label file only goes to the 801M in 9.08 & 10.3.

Also same query for the new module 20 for high beam assist mirror for part number 8P0857511C, thats now CAN connected instead of central electrics controlled.

Thanks.

Thats the point, the mirror isnt on the car yet mate, its a mod, so was interested to know if your release out shortly covers the new module 20 on 8P & also if you've updated the existing label file for the 801 door module GEN 3 MAX 3 to include the 801P version.
