Hi guys,

ok i have a B7 2.0tdi 170bhp going to be chipped soon to 210bhp, now currently i think my brakes are quiet appauling for an A4 07reg - i have took it into dealership and they just say yea the breaks are fine just 30%wear i still find this hard to beleive as they they seem spongey and not very sharp all the time.

im thinking of upgrading to EBC Turbo Grooved Discs and green stuff pads. what do you guys think?

is this necessary for this type of power increase? or should i just change my pads? and give her a fresh brake fluid?

if i go ahead and do the full upgrade is it worth adding braided brake hoses at same time?

I upgraded to drilled and grooved discs and Red stuff pads and they were awesome!! They worked better then the OEM brakes from cold and never, ever faded and i took mine round Siverstone! The Green stuff pads are made for hatchbacks mainly but as an upgrade im sure they would be a good choice.
Also i brought my discs from Ebay from a trader on there based in Northern Ireland and they cost £90 (for front), delivered super fast too!
The Red stuff pads i bought direct from EBC for about £100 (for front)

Thanks for your reply - i was looking at the red stuff aswel but read somewhere they caused early disc wear?

this is a stupid question and i think i know the answer.. is it better to upgrade all at the same time or do fronts and then rears after? infact thinking about it it would be best do all 4 at same time as need replace brake fluid aswell..doh! answer my own questions.

how hard was it to replace yours Torque - was it an easy job?

I did my fronts first and it made a hell of a difference! I found it straight forward enough. Just check all the bits are right before starting and you'll be fine!
As for disc wear, i didnt see any difference really. Less brake dust aswell!
