Hi all

I posted a week or two ago (cant find the thread to add to, so am on a new post) about using the 3M DI -NOC vinyl on my centre console.

I was planning on doing more than i did, but had a very bad weekend personally.

Anyway, let me know what you think. Everyone who has seen it in real life says it looks way better than they were expecting. The phot doesnt really do it the justice it deserves.

looks pretty good

That will be on Nates to do list in his sig now

Looks good mate the only problem is where and where you cant go with it,ie covering buttons up with emblems on or leaving them black in the middle of a mass of carbon

Yeah like it, love to see the door trims done before I attempt it!

Also, never seen those old school heater controls before? they only on the 1.6?

It took about 45 mins on a saturday morning
the hardest part was the hazard button, as getting vinyl to fit on a triangle was tricky

Next bit to be done will be the gear stick surround, then the ashtray and A/C controls. Hope to do the radio unit too, but it looks like it will be very complicated and might be a full weekends work to trim and retrim the vinyl to fit the buttons and all the buttons.

I will be doing the real deal on my wing mirrors, proper carbon fibre will be used for exterior additions

I'd be interested to know more about your intention for the mirrors. I quite fancy the carbon (cost permitting) or the carbon vinyl on the mirrors to match the Black Edition styling elements. However, torn with covering up the S3 Alu mirrors at all.

I think the hardest part of the door mirrors will be making the moulds, prob have to make them out of fibre glass first .

the carbon fibre has been ordered this week so hopefully be turning up by the weekend. Thinking it will be a few weeks project.

I have already ordered some white vinyl, and i have got access to a good printer that can do vinyl cuttings. So i might do a carbon vinyl on the buttons and coin tray and use white vinyl to place over the top

however am glad to see the response so far has been positive

Can you take a pic from the seat distance so we can gauge it better as it really doesnt say alot to me at the moment as your nose is kissing the trim lmfao

I almost fell backwards off my chair when I opened this thread.
