Quick question
running 160bhp standard/had remap now 205.8bhp,also pipercross panel filter what psi should i be runing any body no cheers lewis...

160, you're car wouldnt have been running that standard.

What years your car and what engine code is it?.

T

hi my car was running 160bhp standard well 163bhp and its 1998 agu,got it dyno tested at amd lakeside so yes it was running that standard.

Strange that, it should be running 150bhp standard as its an AGU spec engine with a KO3 turbo...same as mine.

Sounds like you've been played by the dyno lottery!!. Without wanting to rain all over your parade the KO3 wont make 200bhp, it just cant do it. Dyno runs can be 'tweaked' to give punters good gains, I'd eat my left arm if your car's making over 200bhp on a KO3, sorry.

My cars running a KO3 turbo with a green cotton panel filter, Custom Code map, Forge TIP and a stainless straight through exhaust system... the very reputable place thats done work on it and mapped it told me in no uncertain terms that it wont make 200bhp, the turbo's just not big enough to deliver it as the KO3 is pretty much just a hair dryer. I'm not alone in thinking this, its pretty common knowledge that the KO3 wont push past 200bhp.

Dont take offence at anything I've said by the way. Some dyno's give great results...however get them on another dyno and you're looking at a lower figure. Some rollers are kind...some are more factual with the figures.

no problem dude but i had to runs be for and to after and was nearly the same give or take 2bhp mabie your car has not been looked after?

Its been well looked after, 1 owner prior to me, used as a second car and full Audi history. Since I've owned it I've been all over the upkeep of it. Its not pushing over 200bhp as the KO3 doesnt have the capability to do it. If it was a later A3 which came with the KO3S you'd see 220bhp without any trouble. The K03 is a tiny turbo and just runs out of puff!.

Oh, and 40K on the clock when I got it too.

My car (1998 AGU) was only pushing 140 bhp when I had it on the rollers, just over a year ago. Not bad considering it is over 10 years old!

Yep, a few ponies will run away over the years thats for sure!. Such as the 'budget supercar challenge' or whatever it was they did on Top Gear :lmfao:

I would estimate that I'd be looking at 190bhp on mine, if that.

lol. I would like to get mine back on the rollers again, hopefully this year. Was pushing 180bhp at the time but i must admit it does feel a lot quicker since then!

Hey a3tom when they did the supercar challenge on top gear didn’t a simple service restore the car to its original bhp???

Well i dont see y amd essex would try and make my car look more than it is,and how would they do that, its realy made me think now lmao haha i fort as it said 205.8bhp that what it would be...

Not that I remember, cars will drop power as they age due to things wearing out etc. Not so much on modern cars compared to older cars though.

Its all about the rollers, a company wanting to give its client what they want and what it runs on the day. I've seen cars pull a high number on some rollers, like really high...then pull consistant lower numbers on other sets of rollers. The main alarm bell that rings with your figures is that a stock car is pulling 10bhp more than it had when Audi built it...its just not going to happen. This then throws a load of doubt over the 'after' numbers. As I said earlier...I'll eat my left arm if your KO3 is pulling over 200bhp. The turbo CANT do it...AMD are playing the game and making you a happy customer...happens all over the place.

There was a dyno day not so long ago that a lot of people from here went on and I dont think there was one result that was expected. Cars were pulling numbers well below what the owners expected.....just as jojo about his remapped 231bhp S3 :)

If you're happy with how it goes then it doesnt matter, power is only a number after all. If you're happy with it then thats fine, job done. I'm happy with how my car goes so I couldnt care less if its 185bhp or 200bhp.

Well i think i will be going to get my money back lol,i will dyno it at a garrage nere me and see whats is doing many thanks lewis

it doesnt matter if you had 20 runs before and after, if their rollers are set to make you feel a bit happier about your bhp then it will read high everytime. your car came out the factory with 150bhp, so if its standard theres no way it was 160bhp, no matter what those rollers say, infact that just proves the point that they're not accurate. nice to have the graph to show your mates though!

haha yh i no takes the **** realy though, well i will see whaat they have to say in this case if they are lying i could take them to court for miss selling the item,i will let you guys no what they say lol cheers for the info guys

If you really want bragging rights, try and get a good figure on a Dyno Dynamics rolling road.... known as the heartbreakers this is where JoJo and it must be said pretty much all the other stage 1 S3's there got 231bhp (give or take a few points)...

To put that into context though, a couple of std cars ran too and pretty much got std power... Bill ran his wifes Lupo that has a 1.8t in it... thats got a K03s IIRC and did 212bhp.

If one company said that they could get 300brake out of your car for a grand with figures to prove and another said they could only get 200brake for that price, which would you chose? and there is your answer why they do it.

Who cares how much power a piece of paper says your car has, its on the road that counts.

Whenever anyone asks me what power the skyline is and I say almost 600 you can guarentee they've got a mate who's got one with a 1000brake, but where are all these 1000brake ones, as everyone i've ever raced on then road doesn't come close - Its like the old ford days when people thought a chip would give you 200brake and had grapghs to prove, well sorry but that just doesn't happen.

Dyno Lottery
if it made 160bhp before remap and 206bhp after its gains are in line with what they give..
Many k03's on other models get 200bhp, but rarely on AGU's and their big port heads

just compare before and after results to see the "gain" achieved

and of course the polo Gti got 386bhp same rollers same day - hehe
156bhp more than a remapped S3

A month later on only slightly more boost on other rollers, same car made 483bhp

Its a lottery

That's like duct taping my car onto the top of the Polo...

Pretty mental in a car that still looks like a regulr cup edition!
