Black grille

I'm picking up my 06 S-Line this week (Akoya silver) and i'm wanting to fit a black grille instead of the chrome.
Is there any difference in the grilles themselves or is it just the surround? If i change just the surround will it look the same as a full replacement or are the slats different as well?

i believe the black optic grille comes with the bars inside the grill black too rather than chrome as they are standard.

Yes thats the case for the S3 but all the plastic is black too on the s line ones because the chrome s line has grey coloured plastics. Its an expensive job on the s line because you need the number plate plinth in black too!

so i'd need the full grille and plate holder - any idea on prices for a genuine one?

I may be corrected but I think for the black optic grille from AUDI you're looking at around £150ish

yeah think i was quoted £148 and £27 for the plate holder
