No if your a married man throwing your knob about then you shoul'nt be representting britain ... ;-)

i know he done the dirty but he does a good job as captain

Couldn't agree more - The man's a disgrace, parks in disabled bays, fcuks about when he's got kids.

It's not just one thing, it's all the things he is!

Becks showed what an England captain should be (Apart from Ms Loose - Allegedly...)

Yes,
what happened is his,his wifes, the kids and the g/f business, and if he can live with what he did so be it! I'm not interested in his life.

Last year he was voted "Dad of the Year" ...and he had to knock off his wifes next door neighbour friend.
The bloke is apparently on £170K a WEEK !!!
Obviously he is completely thick as well as ****** stupid. A tw*t of a role model. So NO is my response.

Yeah why not? Who give's a **** what he does in his private life!?? not me, i'm more bothered about what he does on the pitch. He's a world class player and losing him as captain would not be good. Surely england should be concentrating on trying to win the world cup rather than what this rubbish, i suppose it will be his fault when england go crashing out of the competition

Wouldn't say he is world class at all. Yeah he pops up with the odd goal and throws himself into tackles, but world class...... not for me. His severe lack of pace will see him caught out badly in this world cup.
In the world of centre backs he is not even in the top 10.

I think what has happened is enough to strip him of the captaincy. The media circus surrounding it all is only going to add even more pressure on him. Also there's bound to be some within the squad who think he's a complete t*sser for what he's done, and as a result harmony could be affected, and as a result performance.
Then you've got the opposing fans screaming at him. Yeah that will happen to him regardless of whether he's captain or not, but at least if he is stripped he wouldn't have to focus on going all out to drag the team mentally into a game as well. (Not that he can inspire the team anyway).

As much as I'd love to see Gerrard captain the team, he just can't quite command in the way he does for Liverpool.
And as much as it pains me to say it, Rooney is the only man for the job. Passion, respected, oppositions are fearful of him, capable of the brilliant, can turn a game, and much improved discipline.

Terry is just lucky to be at the dizzying heights that he is at.

I agree he shouldnt of done what he has due to the fact he as england captain has a moral responabilty as a role model and professional to lead by example, kids look up to footballers these days and its not a good example to set. But the end of the day his personal life wont effect his football and the news papers given a few weeks to a month will soon move onto the next boring story. Beckham had the papers on his back after the 98 world cup but given time no one is ***** about it now and at 34 is playing at "AC" and still puttin in solid proformances for england

End of the day its all paper talk they need somwthing to write about and terry should carry on as captain

I don't think he should lose it because of what he has done. Yes he's been a prat and he's in the public eye but at the end of the day it's his private life.

The only concern is if his still gets the respect from his team mates on the field!

he is not representing Britain .. he is representing ENGURLAND

we Scots love the fact he has probably just killed off your chances of winning the world cup:icon_thumright:

That's because he's a defender, not a striker!! That's what he's supposed to do.
I'm not saying what he's done is ok, because it quite simply isn't. I think everyone's making a big deal out of it when there's no reason too, let them sort it out and get on with it.....its not a train crash

England may as well be called Britain (during the WC) as it seems we are the only country from the British Isles in the World Cup......yet again ;)

Also No Terry shouldn't be captain...never liked him as a leader

So the odd goal and throwing himself into tackles makes him world class??
Needs to be able to do a lot more than that, IMO!

"World class" is handed out too easily these days, and only a handful of players truly are. John Terry not being one of them.

No disputing he's a good defender, but there's too many that are better for him to be handed that title.

I'd like to know who you would put in front of John Terry as the first name on your defender's list playing for England?

That wasn't my point. Someone called him world class and I say he's not. Because... 1) he's just not, and 2) there are too many other centre halfs that are better than him in the world.

Agreed that he is probably OUR best centre half, but that doesn't make him world class, and it doesn't mean that he should remain our captain.

so who is better ? Gerard Piqué is the only one who springs to mind

Pique... Agreed. I'd also put Vidic ahead of Terry, and Chiellini is better also. Marquez as well. Maybe Marchena.
But yeah, maybe not as many as I thought are better.
The centre back position is lacking in class at the moment. Doesn't make Terry world class by default though.

There are lots of great centre backs that have either retired or are on the decline. Beckenbaur, Thuram, Lucio, Puyol, Nesta, Maldini, Cannavaro, to name a few. Even Campbell.
I just can't put Terry in with those.... they were truly world class.

They are on par I'd say,Terry is good.

Puyol is still very good
Franz Beckenbauer!! how long are you going back and ahem wasn't he a sweeper :)

not for the affair it was for selling the box he was given as England Captain for 4 grand allegedly
How much freaking money does the bloke want!!

Captaincy handed to Ferdinand, good choice i think.....being a man united fan thats quite good news!!

JT is still a good football player, and only human. We all make mistakes

I go along with Rooney as it would give him more responsibility and curb his temper a tad and he is a proud man,Gerrard is as thick as porridge alledgedly (mate knows him)

Thick or not, if he could lead England half as well as he leads Liverpool then he be a brilliant skipper. Maybe giving him that responsibility would cause him to up his game to his club level.

CAN'T SEE WHY TERRY WAS DROPPED.
it's not fair

It's very simple really - Terry treated the England Captain role with utter distain, it may have been in his private life but it's affected the squad massively - Add in his activity's with his box at Wembley and it just shows you his arrogance.

The fact he's never publicly apologized to Bridge is a disgrace. IMO he should be dropped from the squad completely, until he can learn to apologize to England fans for his actions and the damage it's caused to our World Cup hopes!
How any Chelsea fan can respect a man, who flirted with Man Citeh throughout the summer, and left all those fans wondering where he'd be playing his Football at the start of the season, again shows a lack of respect and utter crass attitude towards his paying public.

I can honestly say I felt at times, whilst he was captain of England - the thought of him lifting the World Cup left me with the feeling; i'd rather we didn't win it! Crazy as i'm one of the most passionate Football fans you could ever meet - My life revolves around Football (and of course my family...!)

This isn't the view of an Arsenal fan as some may want to believe - I have massive respect for fat Frank Lampard... and even the cretin Cashley (Without doubt the best left back around) It's the view of a fan who's sick and tired of one man's arrogant approach to everything around him.

Let's hope Cashley's fit for the start of the Word Cup - We'll need him!

As for Captain; I'd have given it to Gerrard also - Rooney in a few years maybe - Lets leave him to play his game.

As a final note - Anyone seen the arrogance of Terry when he parked his Range Rover in a disabled bay outside a restaurant and emerged after a few hours smiling at his £60 ticket! Sums up the man really....

Here's to hoping he'll realize he mistakes and change his ways moving forward - Though with an IQ less than either of my Cats, i think not.

Rant over!

(P.S. Great news about Hargreaves possible return next week for Manyoo - He'd have to be our first choice RB)

.... And breath Gary.....:faint:
