I guess it all comes down to our friends the insurance companies.
We all have insurance for third party risk, so this kinda thing shouldnt happen, but when a claim for a small bumper scrape can add a huge amount to your insurance premium over the next 5 years, its no surprise a lot of people, especially younger folk that are already paying a lot, just do a bolt.
If you consider that losing your NCB, or even having a claim with a protected NCB, could easily mean your insurance costs several hundered pounds more, for the next 5 years, for some damage that could quite easily only have cost a few hundred pounds to put right, it does take the **** a little.
