Retrofit Rear Parking Sensors?

Cant be rsed for £6, you get a ****** piece of dough with just handfuls of crap on top, I prefer a proper pizza, I'm lucky to have a pizzeria here that actually does an outstandingly good what I would call proper italian pizza, the quattro stagiani is well all I can say is bliss, lol, to many non italians trying to become a Dominos which tbh are quite literally puke food

Did you install the data DVD's aswell not just the setup install of elsa, if the data dvd's arent installed then you'll get nowhere fast, try reinstalling the main setup aswell as this can cause issues like these, try to install with & without admin rights if one way doenst work, I didnt even use compatibility mode either.

Ha Ha got Etka running fine thanks.

With regards to Elsa, ran admin program first, I created a new user, log in with the new user details, get the big message come up, scroll down and click ok at the bottom, then I get all these messages come up one by one:

Failed to load "InfoPASS"
Failed to load "InfoSNK"
Failed to load "InfoHS2"
Failed to Load "InfoWT"
Failed to load "InfoSLP"
Failed to load "InfoWWW"
Failed to load "InfoAU"
Failed to load "InfoRL"
Failed to load "InfoKi2"
Failed to load "InfoIGG"
Failed to load "InfoSAZ"

Then I try to load up Workshop manual and it brings up a message:

Failed to create empty folder.

Then the program wont open. Checked in properties under Compatability and it says Windows XP (Service Pack 2).

Very confused....

That sounds grim. TBH, sounds like if not a vista issue, that the installation is corrupt. I "bought" a copy years ago and guy swore was fine for audi - I could only get VW to work. Claimed it was my fault for not installing it right but I tried EVERYTHING and TBH in these matters i'm not that stupid!

I concur even if K is scottish.............................lmfao

Ok I seem to have got it working, I'm not sure how but I'm not complaining :icon_thumright:

It is running Elsa 3.50, the guy told me once you know you are running compatiable with XP SP2, right click Elsa, click on Run as Adimistrator.

I'm guessing I'll just have to run it this way in order to get it to work..

I know what you mean by American style pizzas Nigel. Much prefer a proper thin crust italian pizza with real ingredients :hubbahubba:

Ryan, come on, tell me you forgot to install the data dvd's lol, I did this myself tbh when I 1st installed it, so far from perfect for sure, afterall supposedly human, but glad all working, now you will see your bank balance go down quicker than a mexican whores knickers, if she wears any, lol

lol, admission of guilt shows your a man, lol, nah serious note, cool all you need to do now is update it to 3.7, good luck, but it really is the book of books, if I was religious I'd say it was 2nd only to the bible, lol

You must be a little religious married to an Italian....

I do have a disc with 3.61 and 3.7 on it (no 3.6 though?), but it's from a different source. Would this still be ok to use?

Marraige, who mentioned marraige & if her mental mother has her ways that will never happen lol, note to self, marry missus to **** of mother outlaw, perfect, thanks ryan, lol

Well could try 3.61 mate & if it doesnt see a certain update, I think it advises you anyway to advise cant install this update without other.

TBH mate, she knows how I feel about her, as I told her to her face in her mother tongue with sign language aswell, lol, cant be ***** with this false persona ******, if you dont like someone then just tell them, end of, saves the graces & falseness, who said everyone should get along, at least she'll steer clear of me now which is perfect for me, anyway baby due to august so it will be her loss, not ours as the missus also says, one less problem to deal with, she'll regret it more than we will.

Exactly the same boat mate..

F*** EM!!

On a negative note, just installed 3.61 & 3.70 and now Elsa wont show me anything :crying:

Urm did you restart after each update or one after another, I always restart after each update installed.

Yeap my sentments mate, but thing is her father is ****** great guy, lol typical.

Nope, my wife dont speak to either of mine.

I restarted after installing both & I had to create my user again once rebooted.

Now when I open workshop manual after inputting vehicle details it just comes up: selection blocked! Please first start the vehicle identification......

Dont you then have to go into the car icon and put your details in of your car like make, model, engine & gearbox code?

Yes you have to do most of them options before getting the info, but sounds like he's already doing this.

Ok guys now I've got Elsa working I'm gonna attempt to hook up some of the wiring on my days off next week & feed the positive wires down to the front of the car.

Firstly is it advisable to disconnect the battery or will I be ok tapping into the canbus with the ignition off?

On a different note, do you know if the wiring for the heated front seats runs down the side of the car or down the centre console?

Ok guys I've managed to get the side trim off (although Elsa forgot to tell me about the extra screw behind the C pillar lower!).

Now I took a pic of the area as I'm unsure as to where to tap into the wiring? Can I just tap into the wiring to the right of the PDC unit for the canbus or do I need to tap into it where that big connector is?

Thanks for all your help guys..

(Also not sure what the long red plastic thing is?)

The red cable is a emergency release for the fuel cap.

Im assuming that is the bose amp, i dont have that in my car lol. TBH you can tap in anywhere on the wire so I'd just go for somewhere that gives you easy access.

Sorry I dont know how the wiring is routed for heated seats but I would have thought it would make sense to route same as airbag wiring.

Thanks Khufu,

As the loom I purchased had all the wiring wrapped together I've had to unwrap the cloth tape to isolate the two power cables so I can retape them and run them to the front of the car.

At least now I can tap into the canbus, earth the unit and plug in the buzzer :icon_thumright:

So I've finally found the wiring diagrams on Elsa and I think I have found the two power points for the PDC.

Problem is I cant work out which is permanent & which is ignition?

I believe the fuse positions are:

Position of relays and fuses, from model year 2007

Front or rear heated seats?

Also you must tap into the CAN on the convenience module so as to use the correct bus as such.

Fuses 1-11 are ignition switched for the record, but elsa shows you which pin goes to which fuse anyway mate.

I'm trying to retrofit rear footwell lights aswell, so just wanted to know where the bulk of the wiring went from the seat (side of car or centre console)?

So Fuse 4 is ignition and fuse 14 is the permanent.

Is it ok to tape into the cables to the right of the pdc in the picture, as I think the convenience module wiring is in that loom as I can see a orange/green wire & an orange/brown wire?

Rear footwell lights IMHO, would follow the loom that comes from under the front seats, this goes into the floor via the plastic trim that covers up the seat connections in the floor, then goes across to the sides & along to the pillar then where ever you want from there, wiring goes to the side for ref, oem BT fitted goes across the floor in passenger footwell, reason I mention this is I wouldnt want people always treading on wires, so to the sides.

Also use some bullet or the like connectors for the rear footwells where the seat connections are, incase you have to remove the seat, cause if the wire is solid all way through to the fusebox or so then you'd have to cut it later, best to do it now.

Ryan dont be lazy :) remove the plastic housing that the pdc & conv module sit in & then either tap into the bus wires straight of the conv module or follow those wires to see if they go into the loom you're mentioning.

Ah, Thanks Nigel.

I wondered what the plug was behind the PDC unit. So I just tap into that plug, run a short cable to the end of the unit to plug into the PDC?

Yeap, I just tapped into the bus wires coming of the conv plug mate, so short connection really, atm I used scotch locks, but I seriously suggest soldering as I am going round my car & removing the locks & soldering everything.

I soldered mine as I know how crappy scotch locks can be LOL. Ryan, do your 'power' wires have ends on them? When I had car apart I looked at the fuse holders and my PDC has the teminals missing for the fuses used. I'd like to to know what it looks like or even better a repair wire part number so I can do it properly too.

Ewan me old china, as I suggested to Ryan, dont be a lazy rse, seeing a pic of the ends are no good as they have varying sizes anyway of the same connector type & wire gauge, just pull finger out of bottom & go through etka, just trace through the looms which is for the pdc & then you can trace the repair wires from there mate, as I had to do!!!

Hi Khufu, my permanent power has an end on it but the ignition cable is a bare wire. I'm guessing Kufatec expect my permanent live to be an empty slot, whilst my ignition live I will need to tap into.

Ah, just finally found connectors on ETKA! had to scroll off the screen below car types! Seemed to have looked everywhere else for them!!

Ok the fuse holder repair wire is 000 979 135 for a 1mm wire so will need 2, one for fuse 8 and one for fuse 18

and for my other cluster project, 32 pin connector at cluster need repair wire 000 979 018 and at the 10 pin fuel delivery unit (petrol) 000 979 131
It looks like 000 979 025 for the .5mm wire and 000 979 150 for the 1.0mm for the diesel 5 pin connector to the pump

EW, its a double ended wire so you can cut 1 in half to get 2 pinned ends

Be warned you might have to buy 5 in a bag, but ask dealer to check the technicians wire box as they hold one of these in each dealership for wiring repairs, if from the box then they will charge you per.
