since we had this cold weather my front and rear parking sensors have ceased working!
every time i put the car in reverse the parking sensor button beeps and flashes and doesnt register any distance front or rear and the light just flashes constantly until i select 1st gear.
is it possible to get the system reset?

Any help grateful...

hiyah my reverse parking sensors dont seem to be working either ...everytime i go into reverse i get a long beep and then it goes off about 10 second later... sometimes if i get to close to the car behind the sensors wont work ...so not sure whats going on?

yeah mine are the same going to try disconnect the battery see if that resets them.worth a shot

Get it scanned with vagcom & should point to the issue causing the failure guys, most times its a sensor fault, loom come loose/faulty or control module fault.

Hi all

apparently this is quite common.
The contacts in the bumper need to be cleared of moisture.
Pull them out, clean the contacts for the wiring and apply some grease...

Does the trick...

(although from memory is a bumper off job)

cheers

I also had 2 rear sensors apparently go faulty during the snow we had in January - so keen to know if the tip on sorting out the wiring / joints worked!

by the way - not seen this posted - but a tip I picked up was:

to tell which sensors are/aren't working - turn ignition on, don't start engine, engage reverse - & if you hold your ear close up to the sensor you can hear faint fast ticking, if it's working ok.

No ticking = faulty. (I have 2 OK it seems & 2 dont make any noise!)

mine were fine earlier but now there’s no beep, i’m a new audi owner so does the green light on the dash button need to be on for them to work ?

More than likely a sensor fault. Especially during wet and cold weather, the sensors can suffer with water ingress, consequently causing them the break. Mud/dirt can also get trapped behind the bumpers that can hold water causing a similar problem.

Replaced one of mine a while back with a £10 ebay one, not too hard to do and worked fine since.
