Audi A4 2009 Black Grille

I'm back after sometime, got rid of the A3 and bought an A4 Sline 2009 today...

Is it possible to get a black grille for the 2009 A4 sline?
Also can u buy after market privacy glass?

Aha! A sore point with me.Cos im after a glossy black with black chrome...and you cant get it!But you can get stone grey with chrome, matt black with chrome, glossy black with chrome, or matt black with black chrome from the dealers.All are about 90 quid bar the black/black which is about 212.!Im going to have to buy two grilles and unglue/clip the trims and swap them round.Thanks audi!!
 
and no reason why you cant buy the privacy glass as an aftermarket fit, but itll be ****** expensive.They must be available cos if i break one they will have to replace it with the same.Dont get it sprayed of filmed...it looks naff
 
212 is a lot of money... spray??? i guess it will stone chip??

I have just sprayed my B6 grilles black, the finish looks really good, and time will tell on the longevity.

Do you mean you want OEM privacy glass? Why not just go to a window tint place and get the level of tint you are after done?
 
Cos to me the tinting doesnt look good after time and u can tell its been tinted, i've had a few done and my mate does it for a living, its not the best... personal choice...
 
What does the OEM privacy glass consist of then if it's not a tinted film?
 
Proper tinted glass, no film on inside or out.. I know it costs, but to me worth every penny and u can tell which one is real glass and which one has been tinted..

Just need to save for Grille... none on *bay .... does anyone one any places that sell them apart from Audi?
 
If you go for aftermarket window tinting then be careful. Many people in the US have doen this and then had problems with the audio systems particularly B&O. The suspiciion is it's due to water running down during the installation.
 
By the way, is your A4 a saloon or avant?Cos oem is only available for the avant according to the configurator, as is the black optics pack

Don't pay ANY consideration to what the configurator says. It's the most misleading piece of software on the web!!!

It's true privacy glass is only on the Avant but the Black Styling Pack appears to be available for both.

You're right about the prices. I've paid nearly as much for this new 2.0T S-line as I did when I bought my 5 month old B6 S4....admittedly that was 5 years ago.
 
the blue looked the dogs and i would have bought one, but it was manual and i dodnt do them, unless its a race car.... U will be well happy.....
Trying to find a right off car as well now....

fair play about the configurator...its not the best in the world!!You will really love the privacy glass....only looks slightly tinted looking out, and in bright sun you wouldnt know .Just a shame you cant have the front doors done.....although it is available for the us market.Its a legal thing over here unfortunately.
 
Finally bit the bullet and bought two grilles 1)Glossy black grille with silver chrome trim, and 2)Matt black grille with black chrome trim(black optics).Ive whipped the black chrome off and swapped it with the silver chrome, so I now have a black glossy grille with a black chrome trim.Just what I wanted, and Audi doesnt sell it.Just need to fit the begger now, and then ill have two spare grilles!

I would have got them from pjmspeedy but the dealer is going to fit for nowt when my car has its headlights changed next week.Its a real pain to unclip the trim.I aint doing that again!!:blackrs4:
 
John - Let me know when this is on as I got to come and see it. That grill looks sweet. I think your car looks cool really but now with this :icon_thumright:

If you had got them from me I would have saved you a few quid though!

Sorry but i dont agree about the glass iv tinted my A4 After buying it and theres no way you could tell it depends how much tyou spend at the tinters!!!

I do love this grill though..iv got the black optics pack on my Ibis A4 but it hasnt got the Black Chrome Grill.....I would love some black Gloss inserts for the grill iv got but cant find them anywhere.....

This looks mint on here though....mint
 
Fair comment, i must have seen the cheaper end of the market.Must a admit id like to get my front door windows tinted the same as the rear.I think if you want the black chrome inserts then its a paint job cos they only come in chrome...amd £80 at that!!!Thanks for the comments!
 
I recently fitted the chrome inserts on my car. £5.98 delivered off ebay for 3.5mm Chrome trim strip :icon_thumright:
 
LOL.Couldnt sleep at night if it wasnt oem!!!....How come no black chrome with the optics pack, cos its part of it?

Iv Got the grill surround but the grill is matt black as with all optics packs???????????????

LOL.well i dont drink but im a plonker.Sorry, with you now.The only way to get a glossy black middle is to buy another grill which is glossy black middle with silver chrome surround and swap the surrounds over.Its a bitch but do able.The grill to buy is about 90 squid
 
Neither do i glad we sorted that out.........

I do fancy doing what youve done think it might look nice with the white but then im worrying it may be a bit to much bearing in mind i havnt got metalic paint..... What i would like to do is get the chrome inserts and have them painted gloss black but i dont know if that poss if its not how do i get perfect a fit peice of plastic that i can have painted??????????????
