Hi

I have just ordered a new S3 and would like to get the wheels ordered for it.

I want to use CH's 19 x8.5 et35, according to BBS they fit, they even have TUV approval for the wheel, however, I have searched and it looks like this fitment could be tight! If my maths is right I think the out side of the rim would be in the same place as Bently rims, I think they are 19 x 9 et41?

I don't mind rolling the arches if needed.

Does anybody have any thoughts.

Adrian

I had 8.5Jx19" with ET45. These rubber lots when I dropped the car. With ET35 it would have been completely undriveable.

Also bear in mind you've bought a performance car - that should handle. With the wrong fitment wheels it'll tramline and handle like a crock of sh*t.

Don't do it.

I agree, i tried out some BBS LM's they were 8.5" ET32 Front and 9.5" ET32 Back. The back would have looked ok slammed on coils but the front would never have looked right.

Front wheel sat out quite a bit

Any side view pics with the BBS Lm's on? Like these wheels ALOT although ive only lowered mine on 35mm H&R springs so I guess its around standard S3 height which may look to high with 19's on...

How can BBS get TUV approval for an 8.5 et35 at the front it is not even close!

What offset are your CH's? Are they the 19 x 8 et50 all round? If so does this not leave it tucked at the rear?

What are peoples thoughts about running a different offset front and back?

Yep, that's the fitment.

The rears don't look excessively tucked in but they do fit within the arch. Which I like as it means I can take the car for a thrash without any rubbing. I can understand running silly offsets, spacers, and putting up with rubbing if the car is all show, no go, but on an S3 to me it's madness.

I don't think these look particularly tucked in - it's a fairly factory looking stance, which suits me fine on this car.

on the same line I've got BBS splits off an A6 there 19"x9" et41 all round they should fit fine shouldn't they?

cool i was going for stretch :) if they dont work for me I'll trade or sell them on for something that does I'm a bit of a wheel whore got a set of 18"x8.5" Carlssons being polished up that i may try out as well :)

I would normally be interested but at the moment looking at a set of kw's or air ride

I running 8x19s BBS CH Black ET 50 with KW V3 slammed and no rubbing what so ever and when driving hard through the curves no rubbing thats what you should be looking for with the S3.

Dont do it. I tried some et35 8j before, and it looked super weird. I could imagine if Audi made a Q3, it wouldnt look too far off from my car. et35 8.5j would be disastrous.

Right now I'm using 225/40/18 tyres on et40 8j wheels (they are sort of customised) and will rub when my speed is high enough and hit a dip/crest on the road while turning. No issue with with speed humps however.

I've not removed the fender screw yet, and still on the stock suspension. Reckon all will be good when I get some anti roll bars, some coilovers (set at stock height), and maybe run 215 tyres in the future for a little stretch.

What size tyres you use mrgicm?

Using 225/35/19 but will try 235/35/19 Michelin Sport CUP, but had a bit of work done at the back, had the screws removed and cut off the protection for about 5cm and than glue it on the chassis, and works great, but THIS WAS NOT NESSESARY FOR MY CURRENT SETUP!!!

Thanks,

Are they 225's in your recent pics posted above?

Also what make, as this makes a difference?.

Those pics I posted were quite old actually - that was with 235's. No pics with the 225's, but no noticeable difference to look at.

I went for Conti Sport Contact 2's, as these were by far the best deal when I needed new tyres a few months back.
