Just seen in Audi Driver magazine today a full page on HOFELE DESIGN. Converting to single grill without changing the bonnet etc. Has anybody else heard of this compny?? I'm thinking it's a lot easier than changing the bonnet etc to convert to single grill..

I'm assuming they will be a decent company advertising in the Audi Driver magazine...!!!

Now i'm thinking to go down this road for my single grill conversion...

Google it.........

Looks a good idea but fit looks alittle poor....

Yeah would rather just keep the double setup......

For the sake of a £160 bonnet and some paint, i'd stick to oem. The Hofele kits look awful. It just looks wrong across the top of the grille!

oh....guess i won't be doing that then....Just a thought...The photos on the website don't look to bad....Do they?????????
I didn't put any links up because I saw it in the Audi driver magazine...

What's the difference you guys can see between the HOFELE and OEM front bumpers...I'm just exploring different ways of converting to single grill that's all....
I haven't got any where or anybody to do this for me so I'll be taking it to a company that will do it...So where ever I take my car I'll have to trust the company to top job

That's all well and good for people who know someone who can do this for them..!!!

TBH, its not hard to do yourself. NHN isn't too far from you & for a reasonable cost would fit it for you also.

Changing the bonnet is bolt on bolt off, couldnt be easier. I've never done it before and managed to change my whole front end with a basic tool kit in less than 3 hours.

Not sure I want to alter the car...... To a potential buyer it could look dodgy with new front end on it??...

oh well...it was just a thought....I just think A3's look better with the single grill that's all:)

I think it looks awful and sticks out like a sore thumb, look at the alignment of the bonnet, why do that when you can just do an OEM upgrade?

Agree.
The bonnet leading edge looks wrong and looks like a poorly repaired front end shunt.
Looks a little bit better in the darker colour.

Cheers

found a uk dealer it costs over 1k so there really no point.

Agreed, the big problem I have with the Hofele conversion is the price - it's no cheaper than doing it properly. A new bonnet is relatively cheap, and if you're getting parts painted up, getting this painted doesn't massively increase the cost of the conversion.

OEM all the way for the conversion...

Well I guess it will be OEM then for the single grill conversion.....BUT I just wouldn't of thought that the Audi Driver mag would of let Hofele Design advertise on a full page if they thought it was kak

as for the rammifications of updating the front, put it side by side to a newer car and it looks the same so it only improves your resale value! take a look at my before and afters

they get paid for it and as far as i recall they let all teh other ***** fibreglass kits advertise there too :p

ive seen a s3 hefele bumper on a a3 and it the bonnet ant top part of the grille are didnt line up, looked like a cheap replica

audi driver and any other media will print anything ever they get paid for, quality or not :p

dont worry about it, but i would go with the oem conversion, parts are easier sourced quicker to you and fit better in general

OEM it is then but will have to wait for better weather...Only got a drive to work on
