The prices quoted are for the wheel only. Adding the airbag a d slip ring pushes the price up considerably. At the risk of indicating a sale in a specifc thread, I recently bought a RS6 wheel, full, airbag and ring. It has the paddles, but I have a manual, so will be putting up for sale soon. It's brand new, unused. I could remove paddles, but I personally won't be happy with it. Would be ideal for a DSG based car obviously. I am waiting to hear from a potential buyer as I had promised them first refusal. If they don't want it, then I'll post in classifieds, so no inquiries yet please. The complete units are £1,200 minimum from Audi, so hefty.

After test driving a TT RS today I'm keen to look into getting a TT RS wheel for my S3. Does anyone have any tips for eBay sellers they can recommend, or any other purchase recommendations?

Just need to buy the wheel and swap the existing airbag onto the new wheel.

Not sure abou the costs so hopefully someeone should be on soon to comment.

Its a lovely mod as the wheel is chunky!!

Right lets do this properly with pics:

S3 - Silver stitches. Smooth leather all round.

RS6 - Silver paddles. Perf leather sides. Chunky!!!

TTRS - Perf leather all round. Silver stitches. Chunky!

So really, if you want the chunky wheel you need:

RS6 - for DSG as it has the paddles.
TTRS - for manual. You could probably use the RS6 also, if you prefer the non perf leather top and bottom, just deal with refundant paddles.

Oh the RS6 wheel is cheaper some some odd reason.

I bought a RS6 wheel, but don't have DSG. For me, having the paddles only reminded me that I should have specced DSG, doh! I looked at removing the paddles, but IMO the "holes" would be too big and "messy".

I've seen and held the TT-RS in person and I actually quite like the perforation, matched the perforated side bolsters in my buckets. I still plan on getting the TT-RS wheel, but prices have gone up.

When I was looking to buy, I called Audi direct and they were looking to charge more than Trade Part Specialists for some bizarre reason. They do pop up on ebay and ebay.de, but sometimes bidding gets out of hand. One day though, but it might just be attached to the TT itself when I finally get my hands on it.

Eebay internation had some used ones last week going for about 650 in sterling including the airbags.

Audi charge 600 for the TTRS one... not sure about the RS6 one but I'm sure someone here would have better ideas.

Maybe you should call Audi and see what they quote you?

Sorry Phil, should have mentioned that I sold the RS6 wheel to fund TT-RS wheel purchase. I lost far too much money on it and then Audi and TPS put their prices up, so backed off and put the money elsewhere.

I would say though, if you have the cash, it's a great mod as the chunkier wheels feel great. I actually find the wifes beemer M Sport steerig wheel better to drive with than the S3 one. I do drive the S3 more like, the beemer isn't a great driver, just the wheel feels better.
