had a dream last nite where i was in my car coming off a round about and i saw a ferrarri coming flying behind me, as we were going through a tight left hand bend which sloped down we both came off and the ferrarri smashed right into mine wrecking the back of my car.

i hate these sort of dreams as it freaks me out and makes me drive miss daisy so i was wondering do people have dreams about their car being wrecked an when they wake and drive the car they suddenly realise they are driving alot slower than the day before???

Well I had real life night mare today, which has also made me really drive slow...

On way to work (about 6.20am), fiesta in front of me was driving very sensible, about maybe 15-20mph i guess and we were going through some S bends on a 30mph road, then without warning a mondeo which was travelling towards us just drifted straight across to our side of the road and had a head on with the fiesta ! Luckily no-one was hurt and no severe damage, although it was a horrible bang ! Even luckier still I could of met the mondeo instead !

blimey.

i don't dream about anything, but grlfriend dreams about my R32 all the time, i think she loves the car more than me. i thought it was supposed to be the other way round?

Dreams are either a "fear" of something or a "want" of something.
You cast the characters in your dreams.
You set the stage.
You write the script.
Dream are a great insite to what you're thinking about.
All normal stuff that humans do.

The car is "You".
The winding, twisty road represents a "challenge" you're currently wrestling in life....like we all do.
Assuming your driving the car, the "Ferrari" is someone or something else that is representing a "threat to you" as you drive the road...or deal with the challenge(s) at hand.
The fact that Ferrari hit you from behind...not head-on or side-ways, etc...suggests something has, or is catching up to you.

Welcome to the human race.

Don't seem to dream much these days, or nothing I can remember anyways. I remember some dreams in my younger years though, but nothing in the nightmare category, not for a long time.
What I do remember about freak dreams was when I went to watch Superman3 as a young little boy. The bit where Superman takes that plastic cylinder out to destroy that computer thing. I couldn't sleep for a month because of that scene! lol

I had a dream last night actually, weird one .....

I was at work looking out over a harbour (which isnt there...) onto a dockside with lots of large shipping containers stacked really high. All of a sudden these containers fell over onto a B & Q and Tesco express (which aren't there either...) - knocked the building to the ground and and was total carnage - :~

@ Silverarrow - wtf does that mean?!

I haven't got time to dream these days. Too busy to sleep! But I can remember when I was very young I had terrible nightmares of the Incredible Hulk! he'd throw me over his shoulder and run like f**k! OMG I used to wake up screaming like a girl!! lol

I haven't had any nightmares for a while. Not that I can remember anyway! The dream I hate having is one where all my teeth fall out in my mouth and I can feel them rolling around in there. Feels so real! Hate it!

Silverarrow you don't have a Technicolour dreamcoat by any chance do you?

I use to have a dream where I'd park the car and as I am walking away the hand brake fails and the car starts rolling and I can't run to catch up with it as my legs get tangled. I worked out tho that its because I am actually trying to act out the dream in real life and its quite hard to run lying on your side. Also my car at the time didn't have a very good hand brake.
most of the time I have very random dreams! I also use to sleepwalk when I was younger and I have even had the odd terror-mare which was very strange.

For anyone who doesn't know what I'm on about, 1m 50secs into this scene.

Look at some of the key things / elements "you chose" to put in your dream:

Harbor: It's a place where things come and go. By ship usually. Usually a safe place. No big waves, bad weather. "Safe Harbor"
Dockside: Enables ships to connect to the land. Network of things that are designed to accomodate the ship when it's not at "sea". Another safe place for ships. A place to feel secure. Connected, anchored, tied to somthing solid. Stuff is stored by the dock. To etiher go on the ship or have just been taken off...and read to be taken inland.
Containers: They hold things...stuff. The kinds of stuff / things that usually can not be shipped builk. "Coal" verses "TV sets". They usually have locks on them...safe guarding the contents.
Stacked "really" high: Lots of stuff...lots and lots of stuff at the Dockside. Woof...So much stuff that the Containers have to be stacked high. Higher than normal, maybe. Kind of dangerous. Like 7,000RPM for "long periods" of time...not recommend. You noticed that they were stacked too high. The heightof the stack wasn't seen as normal to you. You sensed this was kind of wrong.
They fell over: Becuase the Containers were piled too high....like you sensed. (Good Spidie-senses!)
All of a sudden: An event didn't happen...someone didn't knoch them over....they just fell over. Maybe 'cause they were stacked too high?
Express: An Express is used to move the stuff from the dockside to other places. An important piece of equipmenet to help move / process the incoming Stuff/ Containers.
Stuff fell on it: The Express got overloaded...or became victum of the stuff...now stuff can't get delivered.
Building: Usually it's you.
It collpased: It ...you...was affected by the stuff falling.

IMO......Your dream looks to be about an infrastruture that has collapsed, failed from being overloaded because it has to too many Containers.
The infrastructure could be symbolic of you...and your efforts to mange issues (Containers of stuff, Dockside storage, the Express and the Building) were destroyed
because to too many Containers (Issues) are either coming (piling up) in the Harbor from the ships too fast...or moving too slow (being delt with) out of the Harbor.
This pile-up has reached a point where the infrastructure (You) can no longer deal with it.

So, long answer to a short question...IMO....You're afraid (as we all are / would / do) that you "may" be getting overwhelmed with stuff / issues...which is very human. Who the heck doesn't.
Look at the issues in your life...any feelings over whelmingness to the feelings you remeber in your dream.

May be...kind of...sort of...the same / similiar??

Yup.....I've had dreams something like that.
The car (you), which you think is in good order because you did extra stuff to ensure all is well (parking brake set in addition to it being in "park".)
All of a sudden it starts rolling. All that "extra stuff" you did, failed (Loss of control).
You're helpless to rescue it.
That's very much a part of being human.
We as humans want control. On several obvious...and less than obvious levels.
When we loose control (real or assumed) we get scared and do strange things to make-up for / compensate for the loss of control.

Maybe your folks once owned an resturant / Pub and the "Slurpie Machine" "puked on" you as a little kid??
I had the crap scared out of me one summer...grandparents had this old deer head in the attic.
The sun-light reflecting in its eyes made it look alive. Man did I scream.:scared2:
And to this day, whenever I see a mounted deer head...don't think I don't take a second look at its eyes.

Oh and I used to have reoccurring dreams of driving up a really steep hill, then suddenly I can't accelerate anymore because it's too steep and the car is rolling back, the brakes and handbrake don't work!! Scary! :faint:

You must have been HIGH for the first 2 nights lol.

I think I might not turn up to our north east meet after all matey! lol

i wish. the days i had dreamsn i ate no spicy food at all.
In fact i don't to eat late at night
So it's not the spicy food for me...

i must be a depressive guy or summin as most of my dreams are about me being killed by massive rocks or my works volvo L120 falling into the sea where i work and my mate being killed lol quite funny when i think about it but it can make you think wots going on in my head.

have you ever had a dream where your trying to punch someone but you have as much power as a petit filous yogurt

also i sometimes dream that im in a car and i try turning the wheel but understeer happens all the time and i always end up in a field????

time to lay off the cider i think hehe................. oh and silver arrow, how much do you charge per hour mate:zen:

lol - I tried kicking someone in a dream once before, and I ended up kicking the window instead! OMG (luckily it didn't smash, I hurt my foot though!)

Just joking with you on the spict food.
The bags of coke could mean "potential" danger..things that are not good for you.
They're in bags / contained. You're surrounded by them. You've not opened them up....as you understand the danger / harm to you in doing so.
You help a school mate with a scheudle for his "senior" classes...but maybe a sign that you're loking for someone to help you with someting in your life that is also "senior" or maybea bit of a stretch for you to figure out...Help with those dangerous things in youre life.
We all could use a helping hand.

Actually the cider loosens you up a bit...works for me!
Rocks usually are overwhelming things in life. You chose the word "Massive", so there's a clue right there. Your Volvo is you. The Sea or anything Water tends to refer to sexual challenges and conflicts that eveyone has. Not being able to punch back or fight for yourself or the car (you) not responding to steering input underscores a sense of helplessness one has in life. Again, that's part of the human condition. Once we become aware of these signals then we can think what's casugin them / driving them in out life. Remember "actions are motived by needs". You're thristy, you get a pint. You get cold, you put on a sweater. Once you can understand the "needs" and you can pretty accurately predict the following "actions"...especially handy us in learning to understand women as well. The way I see it, if you can figure out their relationship with their Dad, then that will predcit the relationship they're looking for with their boyfriend / guys they have in their life. And my "Hourly rate"?...Sharing the persepctive / knowledge that we've learn is not limited to working on Audis.

LOL. I know dreams can have a lot of hidden symbolism and objects/places can have different meanings but I'm inclined to believe something is getting lost in translation here... A Tesco Express is not a train (as in "The Midnight Express") but a small version of a Tesco (or "Fresh & Easy" as they are called in the States) supermarket. I'm not saying you're wrong but I think perhaps a little to much is being read into the "express" part.

i have apocolyptic dreams all the time , nukes raining down , one on manchester town centre ..there stupidly real and scary

I had a concurring nightmare for over 4 years until she moved out 5 months ago!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared2:

Anyone have that dream about eating a giant marshmallow ?

Good point.... Thanks for the clarification. Sort of like "wake you up" in the States...vs "knock up you".

I usually have reoccurring dreams of preparing and sitting my A-levels. In the dream the size of the text books were similar to large cereal boxes, and I've been given just days to read through them all before the exams. After I gone through the books I often find myself stuck at another location or doing other things, as if something's stopping me from taking the exams. I'm relieved it was just a dream.

BTW I used to dread taking A-levels exams back in the 90s at school.

I have dreams of eating very large meals but no matter how much I eat, I never get full.

Well....as Mick would say:

"...'Cause I try and I try and I try and I try!
I can't get no, I can't get no.....sat-tis faction!"
