Hi all,

I know we can find all of our posts, but, on the new boards, are we no longer able to find "topics" that were created by us? IE, a list of all my threads?!

Anyway..a few new pics to share. The first were taken shortly before the snow came. The last, well, that was about a week or so ago (with my new RS mirrors fitted :) )

Very pleased with the mirrors. Next, is the remap.
 
Looks very nice! I'm liking those mirrors too!

I still think the B6 Avant is the best looking estate around -- which is exactly why I got one!

Hey Jimmeh ! if you polish your motor too much you will be left with shiny primer :)
(Hmmm, wish I could get my car to be that clean all the time)

John, can you post a few of yours? I've been tried to find some, but, struggling some what!

Also, I can't honestly remember the last time I polished it. ;) I have only ever gone 'abrasive' on it twice since owning it (March 2009)

Not yet, I only picked it up Wednesday! The weather has been awful as well so it is disgusting already -- I'm hoping to give it a quick clean this weekend and assess the condition of the paintwork. I can't wait to get stuck in with it again!

Where abouts are you from? I'm primarily in Mansfield, Nottingham and Grantham.

The wheels are RS4 reps (I believe? Not sure if genuine units would bolt straight on..). They're 18".

Easy to keep clean, too. :)

I'm a keen detailer, but I will admit I'm only an amateur!

I did machine my old Bora with a G220 and Menzerna FF as there weren't too many swirls, but I haven't had a closer look over the bodywork of the Avant yet. From first impressions it looked good but I'm sure it would benefit from some TLC!

What products do you tend to use? You have a very glossy finish on your car, something I would aspire to achieve on mine!
 
Wheels look like B5-RS4 replica's... agreed, unlikely to be OEM since those were 8.5J AND ET20 (Vagcat LINK), so that's 13mm wider on the rim AND 25mm further out than OEM... the PCD, etc is correct, so they would probably fit, but they'd look pretty lairy (probably illegal): they're designed for the RS4's widebody...

Im mainly round Leicester/Derby too so I bet now I'll see you about.
Is there a Black Sline Avant with Black alloys and tints flying about near you by chance. I was speaking to a chap on a job I was on and he said he's from newark and uses his car for work (sparky)...Very dark looking motor, a right beast!
 
I forgot to say Jimmeh: very nice looking motor there - great colour and looks very good on those B5-RS4 wheels... very subtle, very classy :)

The only other mods I would like to do are
1) 1.8T rear valance & straight chrome exhaust pipe tails - (cos the back end of the A4 diesels don't look quite right IMHO)
2) S4 Mirror caps....(but I will probably get some used backs and spray them like Quattrojames has done)

Black S-Line.. hmm. Sounds nice, but, don't recall seeing it round here? Seems as though the Avant is becoming a bit of a workhorse! :)

It depends on the job. Mind, I only have a mix of Megs and Menz compounds atm. I'm happy where I am for now, but, in time, I'll venture over to 3M I'm sure.

I've just booked in a B6 black Avant.. Will be a good one for you to check out once finished!

Nice John.

RS6 wheels look good on there.. I had them on my old 1.8T A3. Nice and easy to clean, eh?! :)

Were the mudflaps on the car when you brought it? And, have you sprayed the roofrails, or, were they black as standard?

Fancy giving me your interior? :thumbsup:

Real good, yeah. Although I did crack my n/s glass whilst putting it back in which was a bit of a ball ache!

I cracked both of mine on the red-un, flimsey aint they.

Yeah that black avant has had all the Sline kitted fitted to it. Wasnt sure whether you had seen it or not. A well worth Workhorse!!:eyebrows:
 
apparently - when car was new you could choose either black or the aluminium roof rails....

Yep RS6's are VERY easy toi keep clean.....the car did have 18" Cross Spoke BBS alloys when it was new - they stayed on for about 2 days and are still in my garage loft.

I do like my Audi Interior - heated seats in this chilly weather are fantastic :)
