Had enough of this weather

Anyone else had enough of this weather? Just been out to install my glove box after fixing the hinge, and my car is horrible – so dirty!
But how do you keep them clean at this time of year? Id never go through a car was and it’s a little cold to get sponge out and spend a full day cleaning out there.
Another thing I noticed, my footwells are so wet must be off people getting into the car with snowed shoes! But its so cold don’t see it getting dry anytime soon!
I have had some fun with the snow in the quattro but now I think I have had enough!

Yeah its not funny anymore as peoples business's are struggling, things are being delayed/lost such as post and deliveries.

Plus like you say i have not cleaned my car for 2 weeks!, all the car washes are frozen and out of order.

Its to cold to do it yourself, but the best option is to try and find a working jetwash and just give it a quick once over to remove the salt and *****!

Relax chaps, the cars can wait, who cares if they are dirty for a couple of weeks, what do you think people do with their cars in real snowy countries, they won't fall apart or rust!? If people and businesses can't cope it's because they are poorly prepared i'm afraid.

This weather is amazing, it's just like it used to be when I was a kid, it's a proper British winter, so suck it up and go out and enjoy it!

to a degree I agree with you, I like this weather, but too many people are not really bothered about getting into work so aren't trying, which really makes businesses suffer.
As for cars, I drive mine if it's not clean, tough!

This is true, and in his day and age people should be much more equipped to work from home with modern technology, but you're right, the whole fad of a "snow day" seems to have come about and it's pretty lazy I agree. And schools closing too, all happens a bit too easily these days.

I dont worry about the car being dirty and rust, i just think it looks a mess, and will take some time to clean

Its crap as well how people dont try and get in, i have not missed a day, and i have been taking other people in and home from work when they have got the car stuck on the end of there streets. Its just annoying when you look round office and there is only 25% of the people in!

Are you all down south by any chance?

Stop being so pathetic and just wash your car! I wash mine every day in the winter to make sure there's as little salt on it as possible, a bit of snow isn't going to stop me doing that. (having said that, the way things are at the moment I don't think there's any salt on the roads to get onto the car!)

I'm getting more fed up of the idiots that cant cope with a week of snow...grrr.

The worlds not coming to an end, you can still exist....oh and nothing else has happened this week as all the news is showing is snow!. I can look outside and see that!!.

I've been at work everyday in 2010 because of the snow, got to do deliveries in the snow in my trusty 4x4!

I'm in Dorset and we've had it pretty lightly in fairness, but I'm sure it's as cold as anywhere else (exception the Highlands!)

I will still be out in the morning washing both the cars though - the hosepipe is in the kitchen defrosting, and the outside tap wll be getting the same treatment

As for the snow? Bring it on!

To be honest I don't mind this weather. However i'm having to defrost my door and locks first or I can't get into my car! I don't feel the need to wash it anymore than usual, as long as theres a good protective wax on, and the underseal is in good nick! When I did wash it last weekend, the water was freezing before I could rinse it off, let alone dry it! And I agree with bods being lazy. A perfect opportunity to test your employees interest/commitment to their work! Shame you can't sack them because of it!

I have had no problems with the snow so far, it probably helps that i live only 1 mile away from work!

As for business's not being ready and prepared this may be the case for some but not for all.

My mum and dad own a fish and chip shop on the isle of wight and are struggling because no one can get out and no one is coming out.

Bearing in mind it has not snowed on the isle of wight for almost 25 years and it mainly consists of steep hills, its no suprise things are bad down there.

So how are they unprepared?

Weather fine to drive in as the car is quattro, another thing my heating works in the house but the rest of the hot and cold taps and the water feed to the tiolet has frozen no water what so ever, to solve this i then wacked the heating on for 3 days full wack then bang big water burst above the cieling in the kitchen , I have had a really good time very theraputic ...

Any well run business builds contingency into their business model to accommodate for events that are out of their control (such as poor weather, increase in corporation tax, change in law etc etc), this applies to the worlds largest PLCs right down to small sole traders.

Trust me, I know it's not easy to run a small business when these things happen, but I see it everyday, and those that prosper are those that have prepared for lack of business due to unforeseen circumstance. I honestly do sympathise to a degree with those like your parents no doubt working very hard to earn a living, but this is England and we have history of occasional extremes of weather like this.

Maybe so on the mainland, but when you live somewhere where it has not snowed for 25 years and you dont expect it too, theres not much that you can do.

well if its 25 years then they should be fine as 25 years of no paying out for grit or no clients cos of snow
