i'm not sure about the black, i'd say try a more dark grey like the RS4 style rims on the Black Edition, that might look quite good...?

i liked the look of just primered alloys

getting coilovers in the post tomorrow so it will be dirty low too

Love them! only thing i'd say is the shiny brake discs make the brakes look small :(

i like it mate, thinkin of doin the same to mine on my silver s-line

Will look much better with coils, what ones did you go for Lex?

im only going for some cheapo ones but they do come with a 3 year warranty and i probably wont keep the car that long anyway

cheers dude

i would love some big brakes but the cost would seriously smash my student loan haha

haha lol same here.. i got some rs4's in my garage needing a refurb but i got exams till next week.. (riding on standard 16s!) Whenever you're free would you mind sending me a pm what paint/lacquer you used

i just did a quick job

-clean alloys properly
-rub the whole thing down with light wet and dry to remove lacquer ect
-mask the tyre
-spray primer (i used just halfords) i also got several heater around where i was working becuase its so ****** cold and makes it hard for paint to stck
-then sprayed with the matt black from halfords, i probably did 3-4 layers

i didnt lacqer the matt black because it gives it a shine and makes it look abit weird

im not expecting it to last all that long but it gives me a idea untill my mate can take them to work and get powdercoated

Why don't you try them in gloss black.

I think a lighter grey would look better than matt black too!

my mate has a black mk5 with gloss black lambo alloys and i think they are just too shinny and there an even bigger contrast between the tyre and alloys

a lighter grey might work well

Either will look miles better when its on coilies! Id leave them till they're on, they might look different again.

looks like my car apart from the colour lol looks sick! The coolest A3's have black wheels :)

You can't polish satin and they show up scratches easy, worth taking into consideration.

These are my mates I am borrowing them until he gets his licence back in June. I will be replacing them with some Speedline Turinis in gloss black.

I remember yours Eddie from Inters! I love gloss black against shiny red..

Yeah looks the part. It has gloss black mirrors and the grey parts on the front and rear bumpers are now the same colour as the grill insert (3FZ I believe) a satin black finish. It all goes together well now.
