Hello all!!!

After my previous thread moaning about lack of good A3's on the market (tdi 130 sport), I went to see one today and settled for a 130 tdi se 2001, previous owner was a lady, but purchased it from a small dealer. I collect on Saturday morning. It is British racing green... In the flesh looks very clean. Well chuffed.

It's silly fast... the test drive was hairy in the cold weather!!! :sos:

"I shall call him": ARMY TANK! **(Cue silly suspense music and mad laughter)**.

I am now officially one of you lot. :yum:

I have plans... The first thing will be a major service done my trusty mechanic... MY UNCLE, then those wheels gots to go. RS6 "18's me thinks. Then re-map. OH YEAH! the crap tints are coming off too.

Looks like nice one mate, welcome to the club!

Cheers Matt

Welcome bud! Looks like a nice example, good colour! Think about the wheels you want, many tend to buy wheels quickly then see another set they want. Take your time now you've got it:icon_thumright:
Once you get the 18's you'll want to lower it too lol

Thanks matt and sandip...

re: wheels... I have two chioces ONLY (Been on the site since April). S3 Ronals or RS6 18's I did do an MS paint mockup earlier with the RS6's they did look mean. :anbet: lol

I think I'd go for the rs6 style rather than S3 wheels, but as sandip says worth having a good think as to what you want. From what I've seen though sandip is a fine one to talk hes had more wheels than I've had hot dinners!,

Cheers Matt

good base for a economical torquey motor,I ran RS6's and you see an awful lot of your brakes and if running standard set-up it they look tiny,I remember Rich akak the slug had one and it was rapid

Haha... lol @ sandip's wheels vs hot dinner comment. I am pretty sure it will be the RS6's more like replicas than real ones since they cost A LOT!

I have edited the picture above some more... looks a little less 5 year old. :-/

Thanks for dropping in Vorhees... Do you have any pictures of your car with RS6's on it? What size were they?

have a look at page 6 and page 8 of pics thread mate,

Cheers Matt

Ha ha! Fair comment Matt lol Wait and see what i have planned for the Summer:eyebrows:

@Voorhees

That looks awesome! Should have known... S3. If Audi did a Diesel S3 > D3??? :-/ I would have bitten their arm off for one! I am planning some power-up madness on mine... Remap and big breaks after the wheels go on.

I want those on mine. Payday... Are those real RS6's or Reps? How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking?

all those wheels you'll see on an A3 are reps mate, genuine RS6 wheels are 5x112 PCD whereas the A3 is 5x100
Nice car :)

You s3'd your TDI? NICE! What engine are you running? TDI Quattro 130?

I don't suppose its easy to S3 arch it up? I know the front wings are interchangeable... but what about the back arches? Hmmm... I thing buying an a3 may have been a bad idea, all these mods may bankrupt me.

or go like this,,, mines a Tdi 110 remapped and alot changed,,, 18's, bilstein/eibach's (what the pic doesn't show is a miltek full exhaust which was fitted day after this)

Holy smokes!!! That looks fantastic! How did you get all the S3 arches on (I know the fronts are simple wing bolt ons, but what about the rear ones)???

That is exactly what I want... I am getting a custom made D3 badge just for the heck of it! lol

Also loving the boxter wheels! That will stay unique to your TDi... I am set on RS6's (RO03).

@Lemon: Thanks mate! I look forward to being an active member and discussing such important things as discussing mods and pub meets. lol

Oh yeah!

THe engine in my car is 90bhp mate but i put 110bhp injectors into her and got it remapped and its currently sitting at 130.6bhp. Nice new clutch to go with new power and its absolutly awsome.

I only put s3 front bumper on the car. I didnt change the arches mate. I colour coded the rear and door sills. Send me your email address in private message and il email picks of fitting etc.

lukin niiiiice! i agree with sandip :)

congrats on the new car Derv Rider!!

They look like the genuine Audi ones. I picked mine up from Stoke Audi on ebay :)

To the O/P, nice car, I looked for a decent derv model but couldnt find one!.

Oh yeah!

i swapped vertually everything bar the rear archs BUT its not noticable even in the flesh as we did it that well the sills and the rear arch's are TOTALLY different to a std a3 so had to improvise.... the only thing i havn't got for mine is a s3 seats and as its a work horse (but nicely looked after) in a way im tempted not to get it as i can throw stuff in the car, where as if i had nice seats i'd be gutted if they got marked! the whole conversion was quite complex if you look in the bumper converison thread i did a post on how i did what i have done ;) ...

tbh the only thing i would be tempted to do next is get a intercooler conversion and bigger injectors and turbo so i can go to 170-180hp, it'd be PERFECT then... as probably running about 150hp just now...

Thanks for all your compliments and kind words. I am lucky to be surrounded by such friendly and knowledgeable people. Much better community than most forums.

I collected the car yesterday, and took it for a burn down the A2 (the car is staying with my Aunt/Uncle in Kent ATM)
what an engine! The mid range grunt is breath taking; in second, third and fourth petrol powered cars had nothing! *mad laugh* :D I really was grinning from ear to ear!

The car is a very clean one, but it does need some things doing...

I have compiled a list of things that will be done. Possibly in this order:

Phase 1:
1) Service; Oil flush and change, fuel/oil filters changing same time. Coolant system flush/ fluid change. (Thermostat change at the sametime). Air filter replaced (Maybe to cotton filter)
2) ECU Codes checked and cleared (if any)
3) Remap (I have the stuff to do it myself) I know that it won't be as good as a bespoke remap, but I am happy with any gains I get over standard.
4)Suspension refresh... Coilovers.
5) Alloys ("18 RS6 RO03)

Phase 2:
6) Full S3 Body kit; Bumpers (front and rear), Front wings, Rear arches, s3 tailgate, skirts and FULL RESPRAY (staying same colour).

Phase 3:
7) Future upgrades including different injectors, big turbo conversions... Other stuff yet to be decided.

There are a few boring bits of maintenence I may have missed but they will get done as I go along.

How does that sound?

congrats glad youre happy with the car, you seem to be looking at things in the right order, you considered sorting the stance of the car too, ie lower with spacers?

heya hun, welcome to the club,

i just bought this car near enough the same spec you have, 2003 reg tho with same engine and power. the previous owner had got the teknique upgrade as standard so i got her with original 17's they are pretty sweet on the car and she doesn't look like she needs to be slammed either...

just so you know this car as it is the sport model is alread 10 mm lower than the standard cars anyway.

also with the remap, don't do it yourself and make sure you get it customed.... its better than a standard, you could get up to 35bph out of it with a good fuel economy and you should be looking at about 600miles to the tank

i'm down in kent and the a2 is a lovely drive, i can only agree with you on just how great she probably feels

Youve got a deep wallet lol

Add some brakes onto that list aswell, as i suspect its only got 288mm discs on them which are tiny for the weight of the car.!

Coilovers are on the list. ;-)

Kent is a lovely place... Its an icy winter wonderland at the moment :-s lol
Thanks for all the tips, I have it all covered, once apon a time I used to be a car salesman... Nothing escapes me. lol

And with regards to suspension, I am getting coilovers, my car is an SE not sport... It has grandad suspension.

Youve got a deep wallet lol

My pockets are not as deep as you might think, I have been saving a long time for this... I absolutely love A3/S3's, the time is now for me though. :-D

The big break conversion (Vented Disks, Braided hoses, Uprated calipers)
is going to be done at the same time as the new alloy wheels. I forgot to add it to the list. ;-)

Thank you all for the help and input again. I am going to create a mega power diesel when I am done. She will be a sight to behold. But slowly slowly catchy monkey. lol

Thanks ruairi, pics recieved. I have been viewing the forum from my phone (Insists on caps lock when using the forum) hence I have't bothered to reply incase I looked angry. lol
