Samsung 0.3 inch Led TV

My parents have just (this week) purchased a Samsung LED TV, not the one shown in your link, but i't just about as thin, thinner than most picture frames. But I have to say, I wasn' that impressed with the picture, I still haven't seen a TV to beat the picture on my Pioneer plasma, mind you there is a slight difference in price I guess.

Yeah I have to say I have a Samsung Led TV the 7000 Series & thats already absurdly thin that makes the wall bracket look absolutely stupid now, the pictures better than the previous 5 I tested which were tbh ***** considering they were premium, only premium thing about them was the price, absolute joke, my old plasma my mate owns now still makes some of the new ones look pants & thats what 5-7 years old now & thats with a new power board I fitted before selling.

I just recently updated the screen firmware & tbh I'm fairly ****** with the screen as I am noticing some really bad imaging surrounding the people on the screen, albeit in SD atm but still its fairly bad when a guy walks past a slatted fence & the screen kinda looks like the image is wobbling, lol, seriously, was like the previous ones I tested like the Samsung was it F96 where the football on a live game used to wobble in the air on mostly 100hz setting, you'd feel sick afterwards & think it was spot the ball as in the newspapers, not impressed & Samsung UK are getting a call soon & call me a whinger, but when you pay good money for something you expect it to at least to work decently, in this case above average & I saved up for a decent one for ages so I'm no richie kid for sure.

I totally agree with you, I think the problem is a lot of people dont really understad what a good picture looks like, and others just accept the defects, so when people do complain, it makes us look like whingers!

Could'nt agree more.

Im very fussy when it comes to my Tv's, so much so, that i have actually had about 8 in the last 4 years.

I have sent back at least 4 faulty Tv's from samsung and Sharp.

I sent back a 46" Sharp screen as it had serious banding, they sent me another one and it too had the same problem so i sent that back for a full refund.

I have had 32" and 40" faulty samsung panels with serious clouding/banding, the older samsungs suffered from "the panel lottery", you either got a good one or a bad one, it was pot luck.......denoted by the letter on the back of the panel which specified where the panels were made.

I have had a faulty 52" Samsung which i had engineers out to fix, samsung customer service is abysmal.

They basically just took my tv away and left me with a portable tv for a week, i would'nt mind but they could'nt actually find eanything wrong with it so clearly they could'nt be ***** to repair it as the defects were obvious.

Suffice to say i sent that one back for a refund aswell.

I currently have a 52" Samsung 6 series and i have updated the firmware twice, so far i love it, no defects, clouding or banding and the picture on SD and HD is brilliant.

I have had it for about a year now and am very tempted by the new LED tvs but the missis wont let me get one, i suppose when they come down i will upgrade to a 60" or 62".

Thank feck for that, thought I was alone with the HDTV swapouts, had so many different ones in few years that I've lost count & faith in any of them, 100% on the lottery bit, lol, dejavous lol

You're spot on with Samsung CS mate, they're a fecking joke, absolutely useless & had same problems with my Tocco handset which escalated to there executive offices where I got a fair bit of them for the ***** I had to go through to get things sorted, in end I sorted by myself via a firmware upgrade, but only after waiting 5 months.

But this TV issue now is going to be hell, I can foresee it already, wish me luck cause gonna need it as these engineers seem to be rather thick if you ask me, rather like Dell so called technicians who couldnt rebuild/maintain a laptop to save there lives, what they did to my Studio XPS 13's is unreal, amazes me how they keep there jobs.

Exactly mate, i learnt more on the AV Forums about Tvs than most of these so-called engineers know.

When the two clowns from samsung came round for my tv i told them to just update the firmware as i was reliably informed this would fix the problems, they just looked at me gone out and said we need to take it away.

What the feck for? ive just told you and explained what the problem is, you have a fecking laptop so just update it and see what happens, why do they have to make work?

Its the process of elimination, trial and error so why not just try that first before taking it away.

When they brought it back after a week they had done nothing.....yes nothing and guess what, i simply downloaded the firmware myself and applied it and it sorted the issues i was having.....**** take or what.

The fact is they dont like customers who know what they are talking about as it costs them money.

It does amaze me when i see what some people buy, they just dont have a clue.

The number of times i have stood looking at tvs in stores with some meathead member of staff next to me, trying to convince a poor clueless victim that the shittest tv is actually really good for them.

I just feel like saying dont do it man!!

Have you posted your problem on the av forums mate, you might find alot of useful help and info.

the mighty Kuro? if yes, I wonder whether there is any TV on the market that can beat a Kuro.

Failing a Kuro, buy a Sony...(MHN :beee:)
