Thinking about buying an S3

as above, going to be buying from a dealer so i can get some warranty and want to buy as low a mileage an example as possible.

i know this is an s3 forum so most people will say it is the best car in the world but im just after some opinions on handling and general performance.

is the quattro system any good? as in is it significantly better than a fwd car of similar power.

do all s3's come with bose sterio?

sure there will be more q's but this will do for now.

The s3 is a good car but it depends what your wanting.

If your wanting something that will handle ok, be quickish but smooth and not wheel spin then go for the s3 but if your buying one to expect it to blow evo's etc away dont bother.

I hear this quite a lot but cannot see the difference it would make because the car would be at least 7 years old and therefore it doesn't matter if it has 10k on the clock as the parts will age immaterial

Quite the opposite as most have had the car and know the issues.
It needs an uprated suspension and a remap (Revo!) at least

It is heavy but you can go around corners 'on rails'

i drive a remapped 05 leon fr tdi atm, with which main problem is wheelspin.

have driven an evo before and dont expect an s3 to keep up. type r slayin would be nice tho.

it would probs be the 8l version i would be buying unless audi do pcp deals similar to bmw.

id forget about the warranty, if it means that much to you id buy the car and purchase a warranty like most dealers would do on your behalf, that way your not getting ripped off for a car you assume is better from a dealer, when infact it will have come from its previous owner and put on the forecourt with minimal cost..... idea being that they dont waste anymore money on the car till sold

even then it will prob get a service if your lucky!! i used to work for a network Q garage (sales) many years ago, trust me theirs is widely regarded as a damn good warranty......scary when you see how they are prepped

basically if the brakes are below a certain level, they get changed, oil change, air filter and the general basics..... thats what people used to pay over the odds for..... waste of money....these are all things you can check on a first viewing of the car, private or trade (even use an AA check if private)
