59 S3 Headunit

A quick question...

My S3 arrives in the next few days, and I can't remember if it has an SD card slot in the head unit, it's got the standard Concert headunit, I was going to pop out and buy an SD card and fill it with music in preparation for the new arrival if so....if not i'll make do with the iPod connection which I understand is a bit cack with only support for 6 playlists!

Anybody know if it has SD capability or not?

I'm not sure if it does, IIRC it's only the RNS that has the SD slots, I may be corrected though!

Thats a pain if not, oh well.

Nice car by the way, mine will will be same colour! Meteor Grey, which I notice is no longer available!

But remember ther 2009/10 S3's have the better Ipod interface i.e shows track names for once etc.

Sorry, no SD cards in the concert headunit and the AMI only works with the 2010 RNSe.

Yeah thanks Nath, seems like resounding "No" but at least I have the iPod option i guess.

Interestingly (and rather frustratingly) the Concert headunit in the A5 has an SD card slot....typical.

I kind of wish i'd ordered that on the car now, a bit late now I suppose!

Can you pick up the 2010 ones second hand yet? (I know that sentence sounds a bit thick..)

There a a few cropping up on ebay but they command a fair premium over to older version. German Ebay would be your best bet.

As Khufu said, the loading time of the unit is meant to be alot slower.

funnily you say that. When I 1st got mine & i just threw a few albums on and on switching on the car/rnse the music was straight on. Now with quite a few more albums there is a few mins pause.

Is it they way I have put them on or is this just what happens?

oops, sorry I never made that clearer - no, just the bogstandard 2007 one with hacked 650 firmware.
