8L A3/S3 Owners Past Car memories (Picture heavy!)

So guys post up pictures or descriptions of your old cars that have come and gone.
Thought this would be a interesting thread to see what everyone has come from.

Mine was a Golf Mk3 1.4 (all i could get insured on after being banned for my heavy foot) it was Ferrari red mmm.
Full body kit incl front and rear bumpers, open black mesh grille, M3 side skirts, M3 Mirrors, custom made exhaust. 18" Voodoo alloys 40mm tyres. Full suspension set up dropping it 40mm. Clear rear lights, Sexy upper boot spoiler, white led washer jets lol,
1 x 1000w amp 1 x 720w amp.
Sony Explod head unit. in front doors 6" sub, mid range speaker and tweeters with cross overs,
Back in side 3 way sony explod speakers sub, mid and tweeter all in one. In boot 2 x 12" 1000w each Sony Explod subs with special filter delivering crisp clear sound of all range.

I still have my first car in the garage !
it is a mk2 golf that started life as a 1.3c
Insurance kept the mods to styling and as im more of an OEM+ bloke i fitted Pre 90 spec gti arches and grill.
Then when i could stand telling the insurance i lowered it a little,
The things went a little mad..
In as shorter time as it takes me to type this ( well almost ) it had a few engine mods..
1.6 engine...
1.8 engine built by me to the best spec i could afford.
then Wizards of nos came into the picture.
50 shot was all i needed for a year or so... then i went 16v and moved onto direct port nos injection with twin webber carbs ( long before webbers on 16v VWs was common, infact alot of places said it would never work"that will never run, and even if by some stroke of luck you get it to... it will NEVER make more than 100 bhp" was the word from TSR
SO i got it running and it made 148bhp at the wheels without the gas.
Then money allowed so i went 2.1 tall block and built it again to the best spec i could aford at the time. Its now running around 185 without the gas but the guy at the rolling road said when he tried to use it with gas on the rollers it pulled a little to one side so he didnt do power runs but its got 150 jets set at slowest progressive build up it can.
so maybe over 200 atw??

It now has full 90 spec exterial with a stripped out interia. sat low on mim alloys .

Then came the VR6 golf
I loved this car... cleaned twice a week at least. lovely low down grunt... when funds allowed though... the power bug got me again... VF engineering supercharger was ordered in stage 2 form. my life what a car !
But as i was still young the chassis wasnt what it could have been so may explain that when a prat pulled across my lane ( when i was doing 40 on a 60 road ) and i braked to avoid him it spat me off the road and into a wall,field then tree.

RIP... gone but never forgotten.

Mine was a stereotypical young persons car - Fiat punto mk1, was a 75sx model. enjoyed driving it, actually quite nippy! and had no issues with reliability those things suffer from.
Had pretty much whole thing rebuilt, added a custom made stainless steal exhaust and peco back box, was very noisy, used to set car alarms off! had BBS wheels fitted, originally off a golf, nice lower body colour bumpers, and it was nice ferrari red. Great fun when i had it but i didnt have look like a ****, people would turn round to hear a loud noisy car, many i think expecting something nice to see it was a punto... fun times, but i dont look back, S3's a proper car!

So we have all had nice cars.

My very first car was a Fiesta mk1 1.1 which i burnt the clutch out racing up Beacon Fell in the ice lol.

My second was a Peugeot 205 with the ax gt engine in running twin webber carbs.
Two tone paint work light blue which shone purple in the sun light.
15" alloys and went like a **** off a shovel hence lost my licence being to heavy footed and had to re-take my test after a little 3 month ban
You could red line it for fun even try blowing the thing by taking it to its limits but it always ran perfect and was so simple to fix lol.
Was a true go-kart

Then when i passed my test again my car was Golf mk3 as my first post.

Peugeot and Citroen shared that engine, think is was used in the 205 1.4XE??
Same as they did with the 106 and saxo engine, only mild differences

Yes your right it was 205 XS though. It came with the AX GT Engine and the Talbot Engine.
The Citroen Engine was far better in my opinion.

1975 MG Midget 1500 in Old English White, like the one below but with more rust.

2004;
The very same MG but with a £20k restoration and mods... Spec as per sig.

2005;
Custom 1967 MGB Roadster with Range Rover 4.0 V8, brand new build from scratch with all new parts...

2007;
1998 Audi A4 Avant 1.8T Sport (Superchipped), because the MGs don't like commuting...

2009;
2003 Audi S3...

Not many cars, I always develop a sentimental attachment to them!
Still got the Midget and the S3, sold the A4 last month, had to let my dad have his V8 back now he's living in this country again!

Edit: Forgot the Rover 200 1.6Si that I had while the Midget was being restored. Was quite forgetable tbh... Not my pic (mine was better spec than this one);

The red Fiesta my flatmate did (cheers m8) and the black 325i happened just after I sold it

I have been the cause of a hefty accident or 2 in my time though...there's just no evidence!

Here's my little collection of past motors! Not many as I only past my test in 2003!

Not my pic but this is almost the same car! 1975 N reg Mini 1000, bought when I was 16 to do up and learn to drive in.......didn't happen!!

The second was way later in the form of a 1989 G reg red Fiat Uno 1.3 SX This was given to me free, so I wasn't complianing! ( again not my pic but very similar car!)

Then came a 306 1.6 XSS ,

loved this car and handled great! This became my wifes car and I bought this! 1998 Escort 1.6 Zetec Si !!

The Escort didn't last long and got this! A 2000 plate 306 2.0 XSI Then joined the 306gti6.com and became OCD! This is actually the GTI-6 but it looked identical..........but slightly slower!

That lead on to the more more powerful GTI-6 in the same colour!

Loved that car, one of the best handling hot hatch money can buy IMO and spent loads of time, money and effort sorting it out!

I also had a BMW E34 530 V8 that I was going to restore but due to lack of room it had to go! Shame really!

Then came the Anniversary Golf 1.8T No 0824.......

And once you have German then there's not many places you can go, so got the present car, the Audi A3 Quattro! Loving it so far but it needs some TLC which I can't give it at the moment due to the weather

well my most recent car before the s3 was an 05 plate corolla t sport

and before that i had a renault 5 gtt engined mk1 clio, this was soooo much fun, slammed to the hilt on coilovers, stripped out in the back, straight through side exit zorst, engine mods inc flywheel cam shaft injectors plugs leads skimmed head, standard r5 turbo though

and before that i had another mk1 clio, just a standard 1.4rt this time, lowered, tinted, zorst all the usual stuff and this one had neons!! o yeshhh, thats right, i was one of them lol

before i had any car i had this beaut in my garage, a kawasaki kr1s 250 2 stroke, bought it as a non runner for 300 quid and it came with a spare engine, stripped it right back, rebuilt it with all new gaskets and seals, stripped the clutch down and checked for wear all ok, replaced the reed blocks, cleaned the carbs etc etc got it running bang on and couldnt afford to have the fairings taken care of so sold it, probably one of the biggest regrets of my life, i loved it so!!

other cars i had in between that i dont have pics are two more mk1 clios and a mk1 fiesta which i put in a ditch lol

Had this for 5 years before owning my S3. Started off as a standard 1600 GSi and ended up a 2L 16v (managed to get through 3 of the redtops though).

Had a full repaint, most of the kit was replaced with brand new genuine items, interior was immaculate and I spent far to much money on it keeping it mint. Was a knightmare to drive as it was so low.

Drive way conversion - could do this badboy in and out in less than a weekend in the end

Kept it when I bought my S3 and was planning on a nicely spec'd turbo engine but sadly one of the local low lifes decided they fancied it so came and towed it away off my drive way one night. Car has never been found.

Still got the Golf, need to sell her really! Got the S3 about a year ago, loving it! Its nice to drive somewhere without worrying about breaking down, lol!

I had a

1.7 Renault 21 ( given as my first car )

Orion Ghia 1.6 the did a engine swap that went to a 1.8ZVH then 2.1 ZVH and then 2.1 16v Zetec that made it into most of the Ford mags

With its ZVH engines

Wow, some good looking cars here....

My 1st car was a Mk2 Golf GTI in Alpine White, then some tw4t drove into it and wrote it off!!!

However, i repaired it and got it back on the road, but my heart just wasnt in it anymore, so got rid and got a Mk3 Golf GTI in Alpine White again, still preffered the Mk2 tho!!

Then got an A4 1.8T Sport and then the S3.

Would like to get a nice example of a Mk2 GTI again sometime soon

i swear i have seen that skyline knocking around my area, worcester/stratford/evesham, except this one has white rims on but other than that it looks exactly the same, pretty damn quick aswell, had it been played with while you had it

if it is the same one i absolutley love it, one of the sexiest skylines ive seen imo

that was my first car which was astra mk4 bought it 4 months old and totally orignal in star silver, spent over 10k in that was my baby loved every minute i owned her
