Steering wheel badge

Hi guys

how would you replace the badge On the steering wheel? Has anyone done it cos the badge on my steering wheel is faded

i think they are in the region of £25! i just carefully scraped all the red and silver off mine so its chrome, sounds crap but it looks pretty good.

Yeh but is it easy to replace? Maybe easy to take off but if I fit the new one will it stay in?

Mine was around £20 from TPS if i can remember. Mine was a bit of a cow to get out and easy to put the new one in. I just picked all the old crap out then used a bit of super glue and stuck the other one in. Its still in there now almost a year after.

mine came out with just a small screwdriver and popped the new un in...no glue and still there 2 years on

I only put a little glue in just to secure it as i wasnt to sure on how well it would sit without.

Adam,the badge came out really easyish and I took it as the snuggness of the leather that kept it in otherwise I'd of done the same as you.

I got mine at an Audi main dealer - wasn't cheap (£25 ish) but they fitted it for me for free, so i'm guessing it was a very quick job!

Looked on ebay but the difference in price was minimal and I'd rather know it was a genuine one rather than some dodgy copy.

I don't have a part number (would depend on pre/post facelift anyway) to hand, but when I got mine they were able to bring it up very quickly so I'd just give your local dealer a ring. Otherwise I can dig out a part number from receipts but won't be able to get hold of them for a couple of days.

i personally took the badge off and masked up the chrome aprt and then carefully painted the red in high gloss hammerite smooth paint. looks OEM and looks a million times better, took me 10 mins!

Facelift badge size 25mm x 9mm try measuring yours Mike

ok sounds like it wont fit, prefacelift 21mm x 14mm anyone made one fit or not thanks mike

Same here - small driver to pop the old one out and then just pushed the new one into place
