Was meant to be a 7.30 start but Nathan was late think he was sorting his hair, so we left mine a little late for the trip down to Milltek HQ in Ilkeston nr Derby to have the Milltek sorted as I had an issue with the tailpipes splitting/cracking on the lip.
Arrived at 9 was met by ??? cant remember his name and he was straight onto the job, clipboard in hand as he was checking the car. The first thing he said was the exhaust hadn't even been fitted correctly, (nothing to do with Milltek, this was the original fitters **** up) he asked if I was getting a knocking noise as he thought it would be hitting under the car. The tailpipes were sticking out of the rear of the valance too much, probably by 25mm basically the back box hadnt been pushed into the middle section enough.
So off we went to Tescos for a full fry up while he got to work, just over an hour later we went back and the work was done. New tail pipes had been fitted and the box re-aligned and fitted correctly. The service received at MILLTEK was excellent.
Next destination was Statller in Sheffield so onto the M1 and up north a few junctions. Arrived at Statller and was met by Steve Junior and his crew, after a quick chat Steve got straight on with fitting the Autotech fuel pump internals. Everything went smoothly, just need to fit a new cam follower tomorrow as Steve thought he had one in stock but didn't. I would have no hesitations on letting Steve work on the car in the future.
Next stop was a drive over the hills southwest to Votex in Congleton (Cheshire) to have the map upgraded from Revo stage 2 to 2+
Arrived and was met by Mike, another quick chat and Mike was straight onto the car sorting 2+
I would also recommend Votex for all your servicing and maintenance needs, they are a Vag specialist.
Next it was time for the drive home, to sum it up in one word "AWESOME" The S3 now drives how it should do, the fuel pump has transformed the car. The car now just pulls all the way through the rev range. Lets see how long the clutch lasts.
Funniest thing on the way home over the Cat and Fiddle was the Renault Clio we got stuck behind trying his hardest to hold us off, didn't last long, oh and the fact he had Merry Christmas in the back window with all the tinsel trimmings on the wipers and wing mirrors
Thanks to Iggu, Gaz & others on the forum for their input and answering the many questions I have had to ask.
