As I promised a few weeks ago I have uploaded a small video of my S3 with the new exhaust settings. Before I had a decated & resonated and now is decated an no resonated. With this set up the car is extremely loud and inside you can feel some drone...an inconvenient for long trips but nevertheless is a lovely noise when you want to enjoy driving along twisty roads. I wasn't expecting such a huge difference between both settings, I think that the intermediate silencer is much more restrictive than the last one.

Here is the vid.

what diameter is the standard 8L S3 exhaust? an also the standard A3/A31.8T.

Thanks.

Very nice mate been thinking of decat'ing my a3 2lt I already have the cat back miltek but ain't been too sure about it as I don't want it to sound like a tin can on a saxo if you get me..

But yh very nice.

I like the sound of the orange one better, doesnt sound so "corsa in mcdonalds"

Both of them are the same car

Oh! the first vid makes it look white so thought 2 different cars! Preferred it resonated then :) Didnt think it would be so loud with the non resonated one.

I had a turbo back decat milltek on my turbo beetle and it was reasonabley quiet compared to that!

The decat has a nice rasp to it and would sound good on a track but the resonated one would get my vote for daily use.

Good post though, cheers :)

Nice noise, but what's with the old white Renault with Christmas tree on the roof in the background???

Yes, it is better for daily use. I think I will be swaping ofently both settings

and your getting more gains without the cat?

As far as I am with the OEM map, with the exhaust I have notices less turbo-lag (quicker response then) and more strength in the low revs as well as nice pushing until 7000rpm (much better than with the OEM exhaust)
