How long to ship?

hey, just wondering whether anyone knows how long it generally takes to ship a car once it HAS set off and not the whole process from build to delivery? basically once it sets off from the port. Not looking for exact times etc due to all sorts of circumstances weather etc. Just a rough idea. Thanks

From shipping from port to Poole Audi it took around 5 days...

Thanks mate, Did your dealer tell you when it went onto the ship and sailed off because my dealer didn't tell me fack all. Had to chase them up myself

Yeah they gave me an update daily as i kept telling them i was going to cancel my order cus they messed up my delivery time!! Even managed to get an A4 Avant S-line to keep me going while i waited for my car to arrive! If you ask them to im sure they will do!!

Most dealers don't give you a running commentary on the where abouts of your car unless you ask although they can see the details on Audi AG's main computer system. Normally you just get a phone call when it is delivered to their premises. Most customers are not that interested until it arrives and they can be given a date to collect the car.

I am very interested as I have not got a delivery date. The dealer is 2 hours away and I have to find someone to take me there when the car is ready and plus as it is almost christmas I am finding it quite difficult to prise someone away from their christmas shopping to take me to pick up my car! Like I have stated before, the build was completed 4 weeks ago and the only thing I ask for is a delivery date which they cannot give me thus adding to my frustrations. I had to actually force them to check their system again as they were just telling me it was awaiting shipment and once I got them to check again was I then told it was on the ship. I actually don't want to be a pain in the **** but as it is almost christmas which is a hectic time of the year a little bit more clarity on the situation would help.

The dealer can only give you an actual delivery date once the car is actual with them. The have no direct control over the process until them. Remember some years ago a ship full of brand new BMWs sank in the English Channel!!

If you really get stuck for someone to get you down to Huntingdon, give me a shout. I may be able to help and come and pick you up and take you to Huntingdon. I'm retired so I don't have to fit in with any work these days.

That seems very quick from when you ordered the car, your very lucky, the wait is terrible, try keep yourself as busy as possible and get some sleeping tablets for weds night lol

Thanks for offer! Who knows I may just take you up on that offer in case of an emergency. Back to topic, I have now just relaxed my mind and not thought about when the car will arrive as it just makes me more frustrated. Its on the ship, which means it could be here any time now so thats good enough for me.

Again if you decide to come down to Huntingdon by train or coach for example, again I could always pick you up at the nearest main station, probably Peterborough, if that would be any help.
