Why would you want a 8L Steering wheel when you can have a flat bottom steering wheel?

ummm cos a m8s got 1 for sale basically, ive not even seen it yet was just wonderin, how much could you get a flat bottom for and where from, also wouldnt i have to buy a new airbag kit meaning big money...recession time mind lol cheers

I'm guessing you have a 4 spoke wheel & would prefer a 3 spoke sports type? As above, I'm guessing that even though the wheel will fit the airbag connection will be different.

The FBMFSW looks great but the cost do mount up esp if you need to change steering ECU & slipring

iv got a 3 spoke wheel bt its fairly bland m8s got 1 supposedly with a s3 logo in it need to check it out but should be quite cool was hopin it was all goin to be fairly simple

No, 8L is single stage iirc, and 8p is dual stage, so it'll fit, but airbag won't work.

Yes the spline fitment/bolt are the same iirc, also 8L's had 2 wheel/airbag types given 97-99 & 00-03 were the releases, both will fit & I'm sure airbags will, but airbag & wheel must be matched for same years as airbag shape/sizes were different.

00-03 were used on number of chassis, iirc 8L facelift, B5 RS4, 8P 03-04, B6 A4/S4, possibly A6 chassis of same years, tbc.

Yes with maybe some bullet connectors & wire swaps but should work on facelift 8L's as did on my 99 S3 with facelift wheel/airbag & I just swapped 2 airbag wires round.

Yeah but as above cut/crimp may work as I did given single stage.

As I said single stage goes upto late 04 & possibly your car which may show as 05 which mine does even if its an 04 will have single stage as per Pats very nice pic, but all facelift cars have the shield airbag & are dual stage

Alcantara iirc, but I've checked in etka & colour codes & nothing points to this on the wheel, if there was then I would have ordered this instead tbh as loved my RS4 one on the S3, was great as summer wasnt hot & winter wasnt cold.
