How come the stage 1 guys are all getting very low results

I think it's fair to say only the S3's made the lower power, but I think only my car was ran in 4wd mode, all the others had to have the Haldex fused pulled out and run in fwd mode and still made low figures. How very odd.

...Paul, did you do a second run without the Haldex?

yeah mate, got a much smoother curve of the ECU dumping fuel due to high EGT's... LOL...

update of the analysis is in my build thread...

<tuffty/>

as you S3 boys had to pull the fuse for the haldex on the exception of jojo, would you get a true power reading from the rollers and wot it differ much with the haldex fuse plugged in?

Made no difference to mine tbh... just got a smoother curve depicting my poor output :)

<tuffty/>

figures seem to be minus as seeing as a few are morning runs you should be gaining a few horseys

Marks - A4 TQS(180BHP model) Standard tune 175.9 BHP @ 0.9 Bar of boost
Badger5 - VW Polo GTi Badger 5 Big turbo conversion 386.9 BHP @ 1.8 bar of boost
Badger5 - VW Lupo 1.8t 211bhp, aum golf engine, revo stage 1, boost 9, timing 7, 1.2bar boost, 175g/smax
S4twiggy- Audi S4 Standard tune 266 BHP
Jojo - Audi S3 (APY) AMD Stage 1 231BHP
Sandip - Audi S3 (AMK) 221.4BHP/242lb.ft @ 1.2 Bar of boost
Johnyg2606 - Audi S3 Custom Code stage 1(AMK) - 219.1 bhp/240lb.ft (Running very lean so down on power)
Keeno - A3 1.8T Standard - 142bhp @ 0.5 bar boost (pretty pleased considering it's covered 144k)

Nature of the beast, my initial power curves with haldex connected show this more than most I guess... you can see where the torque is being transferred to the rear as the front struggle to grip. Its how its designed to work.

From what I understand there were no improvements in overall power fused pulled or not on the cars tested, just stood a better chance of getting a smooth power graph.

Mine (with its issues) made 312/315 bhp with the curve looking awful as the haldex kept kicking in, with the fuse pulled it made no more power, just got a smoother curve.

End of the day, the S3's were within a few hp of each other and all were essentially stage 1 mapped.

DD rollers read wheel HP and calculate flywheel HP (in shootout mode) based on parameters for each type of car. Think Ajec supplied WHP and FWHP printouts?

<tuffty/>

I only got one figure, 221.4bhp on both sheets, i didn't want a boost reading. I persume this is going to be FWHP?
I'm quite pleased regardless, i thought my car was standard :) 3"downpipe and sports cat is now on my shopping list!

johnyg2606 wot was the AFR reading on your graph, mine was also running very lean so wondering how lean yours was

good result if your car is standard mate

If its a BAM (225) then thats about right tbh... does put the stage 1 figures into perspective though....

Badger said it isn't, it boosts 19psi and its 'only' 10bhp behind the other stage 1 S3, will be good to see yours once you've paid mrc a visit :undwech:

Its an AMK Paul, Ajec said it was running lean top end but did say it was smooth and and the car felt crisp

My results

I find it hard to believe that a stage 1 is only giving a tiny bit more than the standard figures, everybody goes on about the difference between a standard S3 and a mapped one is pretty big.

How come alot of Cupra R and Titties guys all get really good results. They cant all be using 'happy rollers' can they.

no the plot will be flywheel @ 221bhp I think

19psi is'nt std boost as you know

search out JKM and their DD rollers and LCR's they have run.. same kinda results and aftermath/disection of the results happens too

No one is talking torque here I notice, which is the bigger difference between std and remapped

A trait of DD rollers is their conservative numbers, but std cars often make std power on them.

Why do all these remap agencies say you will get a increase of X amount of power and torque. All the cars are making near enough standard figures. That is false advertising and illegal.

I have seen loads of cars makin not far off the tuners claims on different rollers. If I had them results for a remapped S3 I would be thinking my car is not running correct.

Sorry if it seems like im arguing for no reason, its just im shocked how low the figures are for the stage 1 guys.

Anyone know what the std torque figures are on the 210/225 motors?

depends which rollers you use.. results are relative to others on the same day

JKM have written some words to describe their Dyno dynamics rollers and the measurements.. worth a read>> http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/dynotesting.htm

borrowed off jkm's website a leon cupra-r (same engine as your S3's)

another leon cupra-r(probably std)
KXZ.gif

another leon cupra-r (good one) probably stage 2
LCR.gif

revo stage 2 Leon cupra-r

another stage 2 leon cupra-r

All posted as a guide and comparison with another Dyno Dynamics RR setup

I have an A3 (8L) engine cover that Ajec apologetically forgot to put back on one of the A3's that ran on the dyno...

I have a pretty good idea who it belongs to, send me a PM to arrange a safe return...
