Check the engine code, if it is a blb I would stay away unless it has had the chain oil pump assembly changed to a gear one. They have balance shaft and oil pump issues.

Glovebox's always snap, check in the b6 section for a fix, or shell out for a new lid for £90 or so or a whole new glovebox £ 170 odd.

The arm rest's also snap their handle.

Stay well away from BLB engines as said previously - Big money to fix... Check in the service book for the engine code or in the boot where the spare wheel is.

Apart from the glovebox issue - Also watch out for loose door handles - Drive you mad!

Good car though, great mpg (i get 45/48mpg) and as quick, probably quicker than my old 1.8T A3 :icon_thumright:

Fairly recently bought an 1.9TDI A4 avant 2008 '57' from a main dealer to ferry my dog and mountain bikes around, is this likely to be a BLB, if so i'm going to rip into my suppying dealer if it a known problem.....

Where do i find the engine code?

Don't worry, the blb engine was only 2.0 and in the early cars i.e 2005.

Good 2 b a gooner: The door handles can be fixed pretty easily, I only found out this after one of mine fell on the ground and boke off some paint!!!! GRRRRR

As jwhat says, yours is a later car so you won't have the BLB Engine.

Mine is a 2006 06 plate and it has a BRE engine, so yours should be ok.

cheers for the input guys i bought the car today and i love it,its a bre engine so good news i guess, only problems are glove box and cigarette lighter socket doesnt work, sat nav charging etc.

It was an option before 2006 i think, so probably doesn't have it.

If you want Isofix it's an easy retro fit - I done it myself, took me 5 minutes.

The light in the 12v socket won't work off the same fuse - Try changing the fuse before ordering a new one.

As for the door handle, i glued it back, but need to do it again....:keule:

cheers buddy where did you get the isofix airbag switch from ill check the fuse now cheers dan

It was just the anchor point in the back i fitted - Cost £40 from Audi. Not sure if you can retro fit the front off switch? Give your local main dealer a call, they'll know more.

cheers bud just glued it back on with trusty dow corning hopefully it works

My fag lighter didn't work, was just the fuse. Think light is on different circuit that comes on when lights on.
