Hi, ordered my new S3 black edition today in ibis white, delivery in march 2010. The car is being supplied by Aberdeen Audi. I am one happy chappy!
I'm the same mate...order 1st Dec...hopefully 1st March delivery. Purchased from Camerons of Perth. Also went for Ibis with buckets, sat nav and a few other goodies...can't wait!!
When did the black edition come out? Cant seem to find much info about the car on the net. My car is just a standard white black edition. If you read my other post titled "what you gus think" you will see why I have eneded up orderin this car.
I heard about it from dealer mid Novemeber and once spec was confirmed I decided on options and paid deposit but couldn't dealer couldn't put into audi system until 1st Dec.....think that is why there will bel,ittle internet info around but basically similar to A3 Black Edition with same alloys, etc.
Great choice though and a bit more exclusive I would hope?!?

When I went to the garage yesterday I priced the normal S3 and didn't know there was a black edition untill the guy mentioned it. I would have been going for the bose, grill and windows anyway so for £500 it was a great deal. I'm not a big fan of the new style wheels so getting the different ones was an extra bonus. I have gone for the half leather/alcantara seats aswell. Got a good deal on the car especially after being at the VW garage pricing a new gti with xenons and 18's. £25,750 and that was a good deal apparently from the salesmen who sold me my last car.

Elton's bang on, the Black Edition only became available for the S3 on Dec 1st. Like you I was going for Black optics pack, tints, etc so the Black Edition had all those options at a better price and with the 7 spoke, twin arm alloys in titanium. I've never been a great fan of the S3 alloys, so the titanium RS4 style are much better IMO.

Y444GAR is that what you are paying £25750? Sounds like a good deal if you are. I have been looking for a facelift S3 for a couple of months now 
and I might join you guys and order a new BE S3! I have an SB Black Edition 140 currently in Misano and love it but miss some speed and 4WD, what do you guys think is best?

Having had an A3 and now the S3, there is no choice between them. I love the S3, but didn't have quattro on the A3, and with the ice here up here already, the back roads are no match for quattro 
That's just my opinion mind, but if you're lucky enough to have a choice, then I'd opt for the S3.

Thanks Granite, I have had a couple of S3's in the past, first a BN '51 plate 225 and the last being a '56 plate and loved it but with work ended up with a BMW 520d (dont laff) now I have my SB diesel 140. One challenge is I will have to trade in my SB against the S3 and I have been offered a wide range from £18k-£21! That is why I have not found the right deal. I think a new one is the answer and if delivery is 3 months down the line, I can save or ask Santa! What extras would you think in addition to the Black Edition? I dont like the idea of buckets as 3 kids under 11 but would you spec phone or nav?!
No buckets? You have your reasons, but man, they are so good. I have them in the current S3 and have specced them for the new car. Was the first option.

I get my Sprint Blue Black Edition S3 in March also from Aberdeen and 's3blackED2010' lives in Aberdeen - must be an opportunity for a local meet and photo shoot surely? Simon (S3Simon), you'll be in on this as well? Don't worry, we'll wait until April for when you're back and have those new alloys on, very tidy mate.

Love the idea of the BE S3 , having just had a MY59 SB S3 , mine was specced separately with what is now a package for the BE.
Only thing i must say is i really am not a fan of the piano black inlay ( i have never had it ) but the ones i have seen and been in , always look scruffy covered in finger prints and when the light hits it looks very plastic. IMHO.
If the option is there think hard about it , as to get the chrome inlays after market is circe £250+ , just thought i would mention it as. although i am sure we all have our opinions.
Also are they the same wheels that are on the A3 black edition ?

I agree, the piano black inlays are horrendous, so I had them changed for the brushed aluminium, no cost alteration on the BE package. The dealership did have to get in touch with Audi in Germany as the order system wasn't up-to-date, but the new brochure is.
On the alloys, I prefer the BE ones. Will look to get a nice set of summer wheels though, BBS top of the list right now.

I am new to this Forum but glad that I did when i noticed this post on the S3 now available to order as BE. I currently own a 09 plate 2.0 TDI, 140 PD, Sportback BE in Misano red. Love the car, economical, good looking car etc but it is just not floating my boat if you know what i mean after owning a couple of 911's, various Golf GTI's , 205 GTI's , etc. But when i saw this post I am smitten without even seeing a picture of the S3 in BE guise. So I am going to order one as soon as i get home from overseas in mid January. ( going to feel a long wait in getting home !! )
To those of you who have been lucky enough to place your order so far, can i ask if it is possible to order with the open sky option ? And also I note you talk about the Black Styling pack, what is that exactly..... does it just refer to the privacy glass etc ?
As for colour options available , what are the colours available apart from the standard white and black ?
Alot of questions I know for a first post but some answers will at least keep my frustration at bay until i can get back to UK and rush into the Glasgow Dealership to place my order and get a laugh at what they will offer for my 8,000 mile car on a trade in !! You do know that the aerial on the roof still won't have the GPS antenna installed, don't you?
It'll have the phone antenna, but you only get one with GPS too if you order sat nav, so it won't affect the retro-fit at all. That is, unless you only want it for the hole in the roof and you're planning to drop the roof lining and replace the sharkfin with a new GSM/GPS combo, and route the new wiring all the way down to the RNS-E.

I was tempted but priced it up at £36.400 for BE with buckets and a few basics on the Audi site which puts you off going any further. One wonders whether you should have to pay extra on top of £30k for decent speakers (Bose) and map lights ?
I think GCL knows this, but like me wants the look once retrofitted to be totally OEM. We'll both still have the GPS antenna stuck behind the dash.
I'm fitting the RSAP adaptor too to give better recetion for bluetooth and not have to worry about new cradles every time i change phone.

I have a SB 140 remapped and only had it for 6 months but as some of you on this thread have already said it's just not doing it for me! Going to trade it in hopefully this time home (tomorrow). I've specced a new Megane 250 but with the extras it's nearly 30K.....for a Renault!! I've also specced a Scirroco R and Golf GTI but both come in near or over the 30K mark too. I keep coming back to the S3 SB and although my spec is coming in at around 34K online i think i should be able to get some good discount so as im from Aberdeen too can i ask you all who have recently ordered S3's how much discount you recieved from each dealership (Aberdeen, Perth, Glasgow and Edinburgh). I'm hoping to come in near the 30K mark. Also one more question, is the magnetic ride and s-tronic box worth the money over standard as they are both pricey extras!!

Well mine was 32.5k and i got it for 27k but my folks have bought over 10 new audis from the same sales guy so i always get a good deal. Thats aberdeen Audi and the sales man is called Sean Thomson
