Just out of shear boredom and curiosity (as i cant afford it anyway) i went onto the VW website to look at the Golf R.
I configured the car to the spec i wanted and it came just shy of 36K !!:wtf:
I was so surprised i jumped onto the audi site and did the same for the new S3...same options and everything for 33K...??????

So am i missing something or are Vw off their trollies !! lol

Indeed they are, Its the same old thing though. Same as the S3 even, If you want it then you have to pay the price and i bet people will still pay that amount for it.

Doesnt give me much goodfeeling for how much the RS3 will cost when eventually released

The Golf is a brand new model though - S3 has been around for a few years now. I suspect that's why there's a difference.

When Audi decide to release a new A/S3 model I imagine it'll be as much, if not more expensive.

The S3 was RRP 27k from day one. It went UP when it was facelifted.

Go buy a Caymen Paul..problem solved :) You will never get a better price than now.

I thought Audi had lost the plot with their prices but VW are having a laugh.
Dont expect the RS3 to be under 40k...and like the Golf it will never be a 40k car....It just dosnt have the brand name.

Problem is that people keep paying the money so the prices will get even more silly until people stop forking the money out.

This so said RS3, are we thinking it will have a more powerfull 2.0t engine or will they sling the new S4 V6 lump into it??? Don't see how they can push much more power out of the old 2.0l???

I think its still all speculation at this point.. But im not sure.
I would bet it would be the 2.5L engine from the TT-RS

...yup, my thoughts exactly. I can't see them spending all that money developing it, to not use it throughout the range. If people are fine spending that money to buy it new, it's cool, give it three years and pick one up for £25k (I hope, though theoretically I'm saving up for an R8, just got another 15 years to go  :haha:)
