Bit of a Biased question really if im posting in this section

but im on the hunt for one at the minute and there is one that im interested in at 470ish hp with near enough the same torque

My question is, are they really that quick as people make out, ive owned some fast japanese cars :rockwoot:
ie:
2006 model - Subaru STI running near 375hp with 400 torque (weighed near 1500kg)
2005 model - Mitsi Evo 8 MR - running near 370hp with 380 torque (weighed near 1500kg)
also had a 2000 model CLK55 AMG for a short while but my wallet didnt like that car at all (weighed ALOT)

i know i cant compare the RS in terms of handling or maybe i can? the thing is i dont know. maybe you guys can share your views as you've probably owned other fast cars before owning the RS and how does it compare?

I want to know what these cars are like for spirited driving as thats whats drawing my attention to it. obviously a stock RS isnt that slow but im guessing a 470hp one isnt going to stick around either.

your views/comments/opinions are welcome.:icon_thumright:

Ps:how much does that RS weigh?

I have seen a nice s4 with a heavily worked rs4 engine pushing about 600 bhp and that would do 240 Mph. The owner said the car gets light on the front at about 200Mph and it shakes really hard at about 220. The car been featured last year in the Performance VW... They do weigh about 1550-1600 Kg...

I would say the only other car that comes close to an rs4 is an rs2 ! Plenty re-worked by DahlBack Racing or MTM with 600 to 900 Bhp wich are reaally sick ! There is a chap on ukpassats wich has an Nogaro Blue rs2 tunned by DahlBack Racing and he says he's got it to 300Km/h whith plenty more to go ! Trully awesome motors and the 5 pot engine is a honey !

LOL LOL.
You think an RS4 avant could crack 240 mph with just 600 bhp and no aero mods? You must be crazy!

A 1140kg McLaren F1 needs 627bhp to crack 240 mph, with a CoD of 0.32
A circa 1900 kg Veyron needs 987 bhp to do 252 mph with a CoD of 0.36
The SSC Ultimate Aero requires over 1100 bhp to crack 250+ mph and weighs 1250 KG.

And you believe your friend's lardy estate with 600 bhp can cut it with the 3 fastest road cars of all time? LMAO

That car had methanol injection and stand alone engine management long before people in uk started playing with "generic" remaps ! It also had blueprinted rs6 spec engine...I will look for the PVW articol and look for the web link. There are many 1000Bhp(crank/flywheel) power s4 in Germany and Austria, yet here people are very happy when their pimped out rs "only" muster few hundreds... Back to topic, that S4 had a full carbon fibre f1 style undershield, kevlar wings and bonnet and a stripped interior. Also 600 bhp were Wheel Horse Power.

If thats Rich's car, it was 730 bhp at the fly, know hes been a good bit over 200mph, not sure about 240 tho, and its a saloon(modded s4)with Rs4 panels.
