i've got to that point in my ownership of my a3 that im getting bored with it being boring, so now its going to change.

I need some coilovers because the standard sport springs are crap
i have £350 to spend on coils, what coilovers should i stay away from and whats best?

I am also getting my rs6 reps sprayed matte black because they are too shinney at the mo.

i was thinking about a matte black roof to match but not sure yet

so only real question is what coilovers would be best for £350?

quick photochop of what it may look like
thoughts on the roof?

sounds to me like your about to wreck a good car..

Sounds like a fine plan! The wheels will look great in flat black especially if tucked under the arches.

I've got V-Maxx coilovers on mine - about £400, but drive and ride really well. They go nice and low too.

If you do the roof with vinyl, then it won't cost a great deal, and will just peel off if you don't like it. I think black roof / mirrors would look supercool on a grey car.

so what should i do then? give me some suggestions

plenty of people have done a black roof and alloys and i personally think it looks great

i may not go quite so low as the picture

main aim is to change it from looking so normal. At the mo it just looks like any other normal a3 on the road.

that isnt a bad price, cant afford most coilovers, £900+ haha

i can get a nice big discount on vinyl, i was thinking about a ibis white vinyl rap but i do like the grey

Dont want to pee on your fireworks but a mat black roof and wheels just sounds Naf to me. no problem with coilovers but your plan for s-line springs just sounds a better bet. what about a shade of gunmetal on the wheels with a satin finish ? maybe a lip spoiler on the front to match you rear roof spoiler and S3 mirrors ?

yeah matte black isnt my final thought, im still open to different shades but need to see some examples, i saw some matte black alloys on a grey car at top gear live and i did like it.
a flat black would be nice too but not shiny

i only want coilovers because its a better ride that the s-line and i can change the stance
so it will be decked for shows but when im commuting i can have it at a manageable height

What colour is the car?

PS I'll have some s-line springs available soon, they have only done 8500 miles so still good.

Mine is dropped 60-65mm from standard ride height on coilovers, and causes me no problems as a daily driver. The S-Line springs will look a bit better than Sport, but don't drop a lot. My car was on Eibachs when I bought it. These drop about 5mm more than S-Line, and it did look too high on 19's.
