Hi guys,

A friend of mine just mentioned that he's read somewhere about being able to program the DSG's to have launch control? :ermm:

Is he talking poo?

No, they do indeed have launch control.

:yahoo:

What's involved to set it up?

It's all in the handbook.

From what I can remember, ESP off, slot into 'S', foot on brake, push accelerator, it limits the revs. Then foot off brake and off it goes.

I could have made that up though, not done it in a while, seems pretty pointless.

I think its on 3.2 DSG's....

Good point. Diesels are bought by tight people who hate spending money on fuel, why would they take their rattly rev-lacking truck-engined cars anywhere that needs launch control?

What an outdated opinion. If you buy a 335d you dont want to save money or you'd buy a 318d or a 316d... diesels can be more than fast enough and dont punish you as much when you like to have a bit of fun. If all diesels were for tight people they wouldn't bother making a 170 or a v12 tdi in the Q7 etc...

Sorry I didn't realise I said all that out loud... just having an anti-diesel week as the A4 courtesy car I've got this week is so under powered and character-less. It's just crying out for a V8...

So you didn't get an S4 courtesy car then...it was always going to seem slow compared to your 270bhp A3. Hoping il get a nice coutesy car next week when mines getting serviced, i wont hold out much hope though

LOL! Nice opinion Pete, but ya wrong :haudrauf:

That's right!
Most diesels though don't come with launch control activated. I've read that it can be activated. I don't know how. Maybe a tuner knows better.
You should ask.
