B**ger. Just happened to be in a pub where some cr*p video by the Blackout Crew (apparently called 'Ravers Binge') was on, and the centrepiece car was a seriously chavved up A3 8L

Not good for all of our street cred methinks...:banghead: :keule:

Cheers,

I agree I see alot of badly modified examples in my area.. :(

Least its not as common as the mk4 golf.. :)

yea, have a look at some of the latest pics in the 'post pics of your a3/s3' section!

Yeah it looks well w**k, could have made a better effort haha.

Give it another year and this forum will be over run with the little buggers, saying innit this and innit that and yeah blood ya know what I'm saying bruv and where can I get some 20" wheels and a peco 5" exhaust from!! :shutup2:

You only have to take one look at the way some peoples posts are written, to know that S3's are now in the hands of factory workers and peasants.

I spent 12 years working in a factory before I changed my career I'll have you know!!!... ;)

Don't see why it matters anyway as long as ur own cars are the way you like them!!

I think you will find its more to do with the type of posts that will end up on the forums. Really don't want ASN to turn into a barry boys site tbh...

Exactly. Just because someone has a less paid job than a typical S3 owners, doesnt mean anything. Bugs me how much people go on about chavs. Im not one but some poeple are way to snobby about owning a S3 which aint anything WOW. Its a affordable hot hatch.

There are people doing crazy things to Ferraris, does that make them chavs lol, dont think so. Some people do want THEY like and dont care about anyone else's views, As long as you like it thats all that matters.

to be fair i don't think anyone should stereotype certain things...especially cars ..... i work with people earning over 100k salaries and most of them have their cars on HP/leasing as it works out better for them for the time they intend to keep the car etc etc (better to invest 100k than tie it up in a car ;) IF you know what your doing)..... i also know people on 15k basics who have no mortgages and virtually no debts and so their free income is vast enough to buy nice cars

simple rule - you can never tell

and for the record I seem to think the average 'warehouse' workers salary is over 15k from memory ;)

As Tim says, you can never tell!!

Never judge a book by its cover, you dont know what the next person does and how they can/cant afford what they own/rent etc.

I see kids around Brum driving in Porsches, Ferarris and Lambos, makes you think doesnt it??

Automatic presumption is, drugs, fraud etc, but how do we know that they haven't won the lottery or are actually highly successful young business people??

Some people sit on their ar5es all day at home, trading on the Stock Exchange, making and losing vast amounts of money, thats a job in itself, could be classed as unemployed, but driving in a top of the range S8, who knows hey???

Anyway, I like my S3, cz its safe innit!!! :nyah:

Im with Nattie....Im a student aswell and only have a part time job and sell bits in bobs here and there to make some money (Nothing dodgy before anyone starts! lol). People buy a certain car because they like it. Maybe they look at what we drive and laugh?
There was 2 contractors at were i use to work and they were earning 100K+ salery and if you looked at them you would think they were tramps but then they hop in a beaten up fiesta. They own big big houses and have nice boats instead! :)

Ha ha, people keep thinking I'm a dealer or something driving around in an S3, it's quite humorous to be fair. I'm 23, but I only look about 18, so it really confuses people.

They normally automatically assume it's 'Daddy's Car'.... Ha, A BMW 320d estate?

I think not....

I was 18 when i owned my S3 lol, now im 19 but still have a baby face :)

Some guy in an A3 1.8 (n/a) tried to race me today. Beside me at the lights, revving his engine, lurching forward, stopping, lurching again etc...
I like to think he was only joking or trying to make me show him what the S3 could do, but who knows! Had the missus in the car so just let him go. Maybe he thinks his A3 is an S3 beater now!
My point is that his car wasn't 'chavved-up', looked standard but for RS6 reps. Possibly an undercover chav? A new breed? Haha!
