Has anyone had the urge to replace the striped S4 badge "2000 model" (front and rear) with a more modern "S4" instead?

Or this a taboo subject?

Were all B5's striped badging?

Seems strange as S3's of same year (post facelift) were "S3" weren't they?

IIRC 2001 b5's had the newer S4 badges, IMHO prefer the striped type, more discreet, and obviously got to be an S4 to start with.

Oh I see, I thought a 2000 model was its last incarnation?
Were there any other differences then in 2001 over the 2000?

I do like the nostalgia of the stripe, but in a way its nice to show off a little, he he.

short answer yes, some listed here, although i believe ESP came standard on all facelift S4's not as metioned on that u.s thread may be different over there?

My 98 S4 has the more modern S4 badge fitted and I prefer it.

If anyone doesn't like it and wants to tell me to change it for the old one.... you'll have to catch me first!

lol....Did you fit it? If so where did you get them from, I'm struggling to source a grille one?
I'm assuming the rear is two piece?

No badges FTW

Those that know what it is don't need badges, and those that don't will find out if they try to out accelerate you,lol

keep them original, i love the striped badge on mine i think it suits the car, well it would cuz it was meant for the car and not the huge S4 B6 badge lol

SLEEPER!!!!!

kinda hard to be a sleeper in an imola yellow one :(

my car is a march 2000 car, ive not even looked at what badges i have, but i prefer the proper striped one.

i always take the badges off if I can.
My wife has a 170bhp GT diesel golf which has embarassed a few Gti's who thought it was just a diesel!! very amusing.

Well just ordered an "S4" for grille and back of car..Ebaytastic!

I can always change back if it looks naf...
