Is it normal for aircon not to work in the cold?

baring in mind it was below 0! everytime i hit the ac button it would flash on then turn off, blowers worked fine though.

Yup... AC doesn't work at 5deg or below...

you'll only notice on the pre facelifts though as the facelifts have econ which is fully automatic

Surely A/C will just make it worse! You need heat not more cold!

I did wish the car had a heated windscreen this morning - like my 10 year old discovery has! Top of the range Audi, out spec'd by a humble £1500 disco!!

The air is so cold at 5degreesC or below, it doesn't need the aircon compressor to take the moisture out.

yer i wasnt having it on sub freezing aircon hahah generally if you wack on aircon with heat the windows demist alot quicker than without

Thats because aircon dehumidifies...But at zero degrees it can't!
