thanks, you wouldn't happen to know how thick your ballast is do you? I want to measure it against mine..

i guess yours only just fit?
 
not too sure but I think it is about 25mm you can get away with
 
is it due to bad wether or my hid conversion done something to my radio once a week I'm driving from essex to Bristol somewhere halfway I started to loose radio signal rds stoped working or something it never happened before. Any thoughs?
 
also 4300k has brown strip going down the side of the bulb 6000k has white strip acording to the seller so i've got 4300k which I'm very pleased with (strip=couted wire going down the side of bulb)

the radio antennas on the A4's are in the rear screen so HID's shouldnt affect it...

sorry, my bad! was supposed to say "shouldn't"...

I remember reading somewhere in the past that its the two vertical lines up the rear screen.. Serving as two radio antennas... And on some models they signal swap so to ensure when listening to national radio (e.g., Radio 1 / Radio 2) the car should never loose signal between different regions. As whilst your listening on one tuner, the other is looking for a better / stronger signal. When one is found they swap...

I am sure i read it online, or watched it on the Audi channel... Will have a mooch about to see if i can find some more info.

the problem is they never swaped as they used to do last week:blush:
 
I play my ipod through an FM transmittor, and when I turn the HID's on I get a lot of static interference until the ballasts have warmed up fully.

Excellent, no flickering etc etc? Also, what bulbs did you go for?
Finally, where did you install all the gear? would it fit in that little section under the light like the images on the previous page?

as I said so far so good 4300k is the ones to go for :yes:

No flickering at all. I went for 4300k as I didn't want them to look illegal and plus I bought them for maximum light to see.:w00t:

On the passenger side it was all installed in the empty box thing that sits in front of the header tank. All bolted to the side of that using the holes already in it. When the RS4 washer bottle cover is in place you can't see them at all.

Drivers side is strapped to the shelf that the light sits on and the igniter is also secured in the big empty space that is there. Again once the headlight is back in place you can't see them at all :)
 
Kostas, do your bulbs have a plastic or metal base?

metal but I don't think it has ceramic insulation tho
 
yeh, i only realised this evening my old £200 ones are plastic and it has put me off them slightly!

Really am torn which kit to go for now!
 
I had the same problem as you have just throw a coin I'm sure they bouth good kits

I am inclined to go for yours as i like how they are installed... on that basis only.. you say they fit well etc etc? plenty of room for some plastic straps maybe? or even a plastic cover to go on that box area?

on the other hand... i do prefer the advert form the other seller lol
 
the manual do recomend to fix it in wentilated area so I gues plastic cover isn't an option but straps well recomended

I think mine are great and i'm really happy with them but the others seem very good too and are being sold by a well known company. Go with what you think is the best kit for you!

Don't be tempted by the advert because you make crap things look good!
 
the seller suplayed me with a right product in a wrong box but was very helpfull after sorting it out
