Modern warfare 2

I have an 80GB PS3 and i think its awfull compared to the Xbox. MW2 is awesome, Just getting to grips with it. A big game/Improvment compared to World at War tho!

Add me mate GHOSTY05 on xbox live and just invite me whenever your on, i need more xbox friends to play.

yup i use my ps3 for bluray only...... bought misus guit hero for xmas for it = less grief!!

I dont think Xbox should marry the servers, why slow ours down for Sony's lack of effort for the online play - easy functionality just isnt there, good servers or not

anyway...back on topic :) cant wait for this game!!!

Do you mean you tell me you dont actually have the game yet?

nope, like i said, the misus has bought it me for xmas and won't swap guit hero i bought her - we have reached that stage where we dont know what to buy each other anymore and so its the only thing she KNOWS i want..... :)

im big enough and daft enough to wait... so far anyway!! :)

PS3, XBOX, same thing. The only thing that sways it for me if the Station's controller I prefer!

But they are both tools of achieving exatly the same ends, with comparable specs to be fair, and anyone seriously into gaming knows this!

Proud to be in Prestige!

This game is basically a console FPS, so if you're happy with that then great stuff.

I've played the single player on PC, it was very short (did it in just over 4 hours) and tbh not any better than CoD4.
The whole ski mobile and boat runs were stupid, lets face it, steering and shooting with one hand, hitting everything...... dumb.

Not played the MP as I refuse to buy the game and have no interest in laggy, bad console ports. :arco:

When I say bad console port, I think this picture tells it all.

Whats the crack with that then? I never ever get that when actually playing on either console.

It is not a console port because the game was made specifically for the xbox 360/ps3 and was ported to the pc!

*cough* That makes it a console port.
This is how CoD4 MW was made, and that game was awesome on the PC.

But you have to understand one thing, the actual code for the games is not much different between all three.
The change is made at the end, to dedicate each one to it's specific destination.
Using most of the XBox code is a sensible thing, as it most closely fits PC architecture.

When done correctly, (as was CoD4) the difference in game play and experience online, can be vast.
This time they made a very poor job of it, as some of the changes to the PC version were last minute and rushed. (IWNet)
Also when a dev answered the following question, it made us sure that the PC community was being screwed over....

Moriarte: Ignoring IW.net, is the PC version a direct port of the console version?

Mackey-IW: No, PC has custom stuff like mouse control, text chat in game, and graphics settings.

Need I say more.
But to illustrate the frustration of IWNet, watch the following.

mags, i read that interview aswell, i love how they give PC's Custom stuff like Mouse control, text chat and graphics settings. as if thats a feature of the PC game.

all three have been standard in PC games for about 15YEARS....

It has been like that alot for myself lately with the 360 version, constant crashing, losing host connections, and even dropping my connection completly.

Call of duty world at war is great online though, doesnt seem to have any of these problems.

So true bud. :lmfao::lmfao:

I thought this game was way to short....then when the credits finished I'd only finished 51% of the game...I've now read that you have to complete all spec op levels on 3 stars to do the 2nd half of the game..:scared2:

i downloaded the game the other day, and it took me under 4 hours to complete the campaign, even tho its short, was a nice game, im waiting on a multiplayer crack so i can have a shot of the online play, see if its as bad as everyone says it is, which, i suspect it will be.

if shock horror, its any good, i may actually buy the game, although COD4 is still pretty busy online atm, so i cant see it happening

Same here, not sure if i like the specail ops though, they're a bit ridiculously tough.

outta curiousity i wonder if its possible to ethernet the console upto an N router which will talk with my main router..... hmmmm

Tim

Assuming both of your routers have got a built in switch with some spare ports (which pretty much every home router does) then yeah that is certainly possible :)
