Seen a few pictures on the site and really like the look of the cupra splitter on the a3's

i just wanted to check if the splitter would fit my bumper, i know a bit of trimming is needed on the centre bars but other than that i take it can be worked to fit with a few self tapers?

also what sort of price is the splitter and is there a part number so when i ring up the SEAT dealer i can make sure i get the right one?

heres a front shot of the car, not the best photo as its off the iphone:

cheers in advance fellas

You have to do a bit of trimming etc but they look good when fitted,i would advise having another person there when your fit it to let you look how far back you want it and hold it in place as it wraps round the corner so you can see how you want to finish it at the back of the bumper

Yeah fitted 2 now,one on a r32 bumper and 1 on the rs4,a3 one already fitted, but needs replacing due to keep catching it as car is so low,but for £18 it saves the bumper.
Defo a 2 man job,get the centre lined up and work 1 side round then match it when you do the 2nd.They are quite flexible,i think we held it in place with masking once the centre was fitted, just to check what positioning looked best.
Have fun ;)

Had a LCR myself, they are £18 pounds from a Seat dealer, just go into any dealer and they will know what you are talking about. They are priced cheaply because you go through at least 2 a year with the LCR (forever scraping on something)

cheers for the help guys

so am i just calling the seat dealer and asking for a leon cupra r front splitter?

is it any year in particular?

andy

Shouldn't need to tell them a year or anything, just ask for a LCR front splitter and you should be fine. I never had a problem.

What do you fix them on with?

Done this to my car. All you need to do is cut some of the fixing lugs shorter on the splitter then fix with some self tapping screws. Took about 5-10 mins to do with girlfriend ( well she is used to laying on her back ) to help hold the splitter in place.

ive put one on my 55 sline and looks well only payed 22.50 off ebay from a place chesterfield new

I'll be going down my local seat dealer in the new year and grabbing one for my A4 S-line. Cheap and easy to do, and a big visual impact.

ive been looking for one of these for ages, might just pop down to SEAT :D im suprised a dealer is cheaper than ebay tho!

A dealer is much much cheaper mate. Probably because the LCR is sooo low that they scratch on everything and have to be replaced so often.

yeah just got back from SEAT payed £22 which is fairly reasonable, will post a pic when i get a chance to fit it (and figure out how you post pics :s) Stupid british weather!

My only worry is that with the car being lowered anyway it might be crazy low?!

"SimonAshley", don't suppose you've got any pictures of your car with the splitter fitted from a bit more of a distance have you matey?? I'm still really undecided if I want one for mine or not as I still can't get a proper idea what they look like due to everybody who fits one always posting close-up pics of them...

The splitter could do with a bit more trimming TBH mate, you need to trim the lugs down a bit in the middle so the splitter does not bow down in the middle, also along the rest of the splitter the other lugs need trimming. I also cut V's in the splitter to allow it to be spread wider across the bumper.

Heres my old car now Jules is the proud owner, credit to him for sorting the ride height
