Hi everyone. Just bought my first Audi yesterday, it's a 2001 A3 1.8T Quattro in indigo blue. 3 door with black leather. 77k FASH. Alledgedly remapped to 220bhp with miltech exhaust & turbosmart plumback DV. Not sure if I like the Turbosmart DV, but will live with it for the moment. I've set it to recircle as I really don't like the boyracer phisssh noise.
I've owned 3 VW mk4 Golfs the last of which was a Tornado red petrol Anniversary Revo stage 1, which I absolutely loved, & have been sulking ever since I sold it last August.
Gotta say first impressions of the A3 are very favourable, certainly the interior is more refined than Golf with some nice subtle touches.

Anyway does anyone know how to remove the Concert head unit? also where is the diagnostic port? I have VAGcom & just want to see if there any hidden issues, but I'm damned if I can find the port.

welocme to the forum mate...diagnostic port is under the ashtray in front of the gear lever.....

HU removal is via the double pronged tools

Found the diag port, it's on the underside of the dash near the bonnet pull.
Volume control on the Concert cassette player is faulty & can't see any slots for the removal key:confused:

At the very bottom of it mate, above the climate unit....2 slots along the bottom edge of the head unit...they are there...trust me!.

Welcome Pdazzle

Piccies?

Will post some piccies tomorrow, as it's been peeing down here all afternoon. The car has the standard 16" alloys on that I don't really like, & will be replaced with 18's soon. At the moment it's a bit of a wolf in sheeps clothing, which I quite like, but not for long:laugh:

I'm wanting to go the other way to you...stock rims back on so it blends in...sleeper :ninja:

I've owned 2 Revo stage 1 mk4 Golf's, & this would leave them both for dead. Crikey it's stupidly quick, & no torque steer. WOW.

ah crap.... yeah sorry diag port was for pre facelift....yours is FL and so where you have found eeeek

...you gonna put some of those little blue lights on like the other 'sleepers' you have at your place? :p

Had a few little niggles to sort out. Alarm kept going off randomly, which I solved by taking the alarm siren box out, & sure enough when I opened it up the batteries had leaked all over the PCB board.
MAF sensor was knackered too, bought a genuine new one from TPS for £75 exchange.
New wheels fitted today.
Car is pretty dirty as it's been raining for most of the last 7 days.
