Will headlight switch fit ?

hi,ok what i want to know is will the chrome or non chrome headlamp switch with 'auto' function from a golf mk 5 or anothe vw fit and work on the 2.0 tdi A3 (8P)

What is on your existing switch at the moment , if it is the same as this then i have the chrome version for you

Well it is a different switch then , and is no good for your car.
The switch is the coming / leaving home button.

i want the coming home lights,that why i want a switch with 'auto' function

Coming gome has nothing to do with the auto position on the dial knob, ch/lh is controlled via the seperate button mate, so you need this & you have to wire this in & code it, plus your module 09 (J519) has to support the function, so you need to check the module with vagcom 1st before changing parts then finding cant be done.

If anyone is selling a standard A3 switch without the chrome piece and without the ch/lh button (basically identical to the pic crypric23 put up but without the ch/lh button) I may be interested.

Module 09 long coding check if its an option you can tick or not, also what part no/module version does 09 show you?

ive checked on vag and my car does support that function !
Also what do i need to do if i want the footwell lighting,i know the car supports that and was wondering if the wires/connection are already there or have i got to wire up ?

Doubt it, robina3 does a kit for footwell & puddle lights fairly cheap, look him up mate.
