Volkswagen Corrado G60 Interior Detail

Back to the old’skool.

My local Dodo Juice dealer asked if I could put his car through similar treatment to that of the 318 BMW I did a week or so ago. (Interior only)

Volkswagen Corrado G60 ~1990

• AutoSmart G101
• Costco Microfibres a plenty
• Meguiars APC (all purpose cleaner)
• Meguiars Slide Lock brush
• Meguiars Triple Duty brush
• Meguiars Upholstery brush
• VAX 6131 extraction system
• Various detail brushes
• Vikan Upholstery brush

A little dirtier than I expected it to be to be honest – lots of surface soiling but, various stains engrained in the carpet pile and upholstery..

First thing to do is bag up the kack; keep the belongings and scrap the rubbish.

Follow this by giving the carpets a good scrub with a upholstery brush. Then a thorough hoover to give a ‘clean’ surface.


Hoovered:

I had another four-legged helper today. This one was ginger!

Ginger pussy didn’t like the VAX!


Bio Brisk layed onto the carpet, scrubbed, flushed with water passing through the VAX and then extracted. This followed by a good scrub/wipe with a microfibre.

Driver’s foot well after Bio Brisk application and scrubbing:

Cleaned then extracted.

Clean MF prior to wiping down..

And after..

Although the VAX brought tonnes of dirt up, it’s always worth a second wipe.

Few stains to deal with:

With the majority of the wet-work out the way, I tidied up, switched back to a dry VAC and started with the plastics.

Crevices dusted:

Pedals cleaned – G101 & Megs triple action brush.

Headlining/visors cleaned (some stubborn areas remained)

50/50

Just remember kids,

Four hours forty minutes spent here.

Not a bad turnaround – felt as though the BMW went better somehow? (The bolsters were a bit worn; difficult to clean with the VAX..)

My Dodo man was happy, so, that’s all that matters.

That is what I call a top job mate.
Just had a look at the BMW, WOW. If you were closer i'd definately get the Mrs' car to you.
Quick question, the Mrs has a nasty black C180K with light grey jaquard interior that stains even if spring water spills on it.
How do we get it cleaned without making the whole interior go like the stain or darker?

heh, as hoped, I popped round yesterday to see how it was looking.

Adam said on the phone "Hi, yeah I'm home, but, you're going to laugh when you get here!" *hmm *

I pull into the drive and l.o.l. He's swapping the seats.. The old dirty/ripped/soft cloth seats had been thrown out onto the drive and in their place, some rather lush part-leather Porsche seats. (looks to me as though they're from the '944??)

Anywho.. maybe I'll be going back to sort them out; they're part leather part material. But, look very, very sweet.

Nothing really, we've just kinda been looking at the stains and scratching our heads. We dont obviously wanna make things worse.
It's just the usual liquid stains that the kids have made like spilt drinks.

Alriiight maaate! I asked the question, and, I believe he is keeping them for the time being.

Ok. Might be worth picking up some AutoGlym Interior Shampoo and having the read of the back of that; readily available at Halfords etc.

I'm lucky to have the VAX by my side which certainly helps - try foaming the shampoo, agitate it lightly and wipe with damp microfibres. The trouble is, if you have results, you're no doubt going to be left with a clean patch; you'll have to work the full section in the same manner to 'blend'.

Jimmeh, are the microfibres from costco any good?? They are a good price but didnt know if they were up to much. I need some new ones for use inside and out.

I use lots of them.. infact, I've just taken a load out of the washing machine. 25+

They start life as a polishing/glaze removal cloth and then they're bunged in the wash. From there on, they're wheels, interior, engine bay and upholstery clothes. Mighty good pieces imo.
