Hi,

Has anyone got any photos of an S3 on standard suspension and springs but with 19" alloys? 35 profile tyres.

Desperatley want to put some 19" alloys on my car, but worrying it won't look right. I'd drop the springs, but that's adding hundreds to my insurance.

Have used a wheel checker link on the forum which suggests it won't lift the car that much but it's a big investment to be wrong on.

Thanks

D

Looks good to me

Whats with the obsession of lowering the car to the bottom ? :)

Would it be possible if anyone is able to photoshop this picture in sprint blue with a anthracite finish or even matt black??

Wanting to upgrade my alloys and i think these are the ones!

Thanks for the pics and the words of advice.

Wheels have now been ordered so 19" BBS CK's on the way.....i know this is only just the start of the modifying bug, but for now the new wheels will have to do.

Will post some pics when i have them fitted!

On OEM suspension. A tad high, but bearable.

Many thanks sir. 2 weeks in Ibiza mothballing our holiday home for the winter, and I'm working away at the moment so not getting on t'internet as much as I'd like.

Got a thread planned in the next week or so as I'm fitting a BSH catch can.
:beerchug:

No they are not, as ET52 19x9 will not clear the shock..
I see .. do you have any numbers for the limits where the wheels will clear? I suppose the only OEM RS6 wheels that will fit S3 are the 18" ..

Not sure, but my rears are 19"x9 ET41 and they are fine, and my fronts are 19"x9 ET52, but with my 10mm spacer it makes them ET42, they are fine also :icon_thumright:

Well after a few weeks of having to wait because of work commitments, here they are....19 inch BBS CK's on my S3.

Thanks to all for the comments, Thanks to PW Motorsport for the wheels and great service from Blackboots in Chesham who fitted it all together.

Fingers crossed i got the links right-

Hi,

I think i'll stick to standard ride height. Think the back is perfect anyway, it's the front that looks a tad high.

Problem when i first looked into dropping the car was insurance, as soon as i mentioned lowering, "that'll be £200 more sir".....maybe i'm just trying the wrong places, but quite happy with the look for now unless i crack the insurance and then there'll be no stopping me.......

This is mine, standard suspension 19" et43 8.5j 225x35 pZeros
Will look better when I get coilovers fit but still looks good imo

Did this setup rub at all before you did the coil overs? im going for a similar setup but with et45 rims.

if you are using 19x8.5 et 45 with 225 and using coilovers then you will rub depending on the height you are comfortable with. TBH, rubbing is a way of life and its temporary until you rub it through. If you want to limit the rubbing in the rear then you need to perform the RS3 mod with the fender flare which gets rid of the arch screw where it usually rubs. I really hate the 8.5 inch rim with 225 as it stretches. I don't like it visually but thats just me. I have no rubbing with 19x8 225 ET 50 with 5 mm spacers
