This is my other halfs Audi A3
Ive always like the Audi especially the last few years , I think its the aggressive front which has a lot of character and is quite mean looking, so when she opted to chop the Compact in I was quite chuffed, being able to get my mits on one thats on the door step is just what I wanted .bearing in mind its not my car lol.
With 3 kids (and two dogs) and the car being a daily driver, we had to keep in perspective what could actually be done to it as an ongoing project.
With this is mind we had a chin wag about what she wanted and then made a start.
This is not the actual car as we did take any before pictures.
I think black is the best colour when cleaned and polished, just like a mirror!
Like most interiors...bland!we made sure it was cloth, no need to pay extra for leather
She was a fan of the wood effect which has never been my cup of tea but i knew this would change as things progressed.
The first job was a set of wheels.
After remembering its not mine! Sarah narrowed it down to two sets, the one she has now and another set with look quite like BBS LMs. After much thought she opted for these and TBH they work very well with the car, The LM type were dropped because the polished lip with black middles may see a little kerbing and these are far easier to rectify if that ever happened, she did want to worry about searching for a place local to sort them out. There are centre caps, just not it the pictures.
Cannot remember the name of them at the moment but there 19
In standard form, the suspension was quite high so this also had to be sorted, not forgetting its a daily family car so a modest drop of 35mm rear and 15-20 front would be enough
Ill add pictures of it settled when i get them off the camera...just need to find it!
FOUND IT!!
Although its not slammed, its alot better than the 4x4 stance before.
After much thought about the interior colour she decided on something darker which would still draw your attention due to the black exterior.
The Colour was taken from this car!
Individual Caramel Merino Nappa..Yum Yum.
The leather is thicker than other Nappa leathers and also has a heavy grain, but its still silky soft
The first part to get leathered were the armrest and gaiter+gearknob, shortly followed by the console supports.
I did see an Audi at a resent dub show with the same'ish colour interior with Bentley wheels, looked really nice!.
Top stitching along the top made a difference from an otherwise bland part
I could see that the wood effect would have to go after adding this colour leather, sarah confirm this when the door cards were leathered.
I couldn't believe the hassle it took to get the rear door cards out!!, i literally had to strip the rear of the car just to get them out!!
Got to say though...after putting them back in....well worth the hassle!

Not had to wait to long to get these up, only thing is i cannot find the rear ones, which when you see them together looks even better.
So for now, just the fronts
You don't need a stitch line in the front door cards but i though it would look better to have one, adds a bit more colour and breaks up a plain area.
With the leather being 1.6-1.8mm instead of the usual 1-1.2mm total tolerances was a little tight, the rear door card forearm rest was a pain in the a$$ to get back in...but it all done
The top section had to be done, just waiting to be leathered and the theme follows through to the rear door cards.
The door pockets didn't escape...breaks up another dark area. with the door handle/forearm rest done it all goes together quite well....well chuffed
see what i mean about the wood effect now....we (she/sarah) is currently looking to change it to aluminum.

Again, the hassle getting them out.
Phewww at last...on there own
A line of stitching was added to the rear doorcard as well, didnt need it, just breaks it up.
With the boot put back together and all the bits in...the "Worth the Hassle Picture" the rear speaker grills were a pan to get back in due to the thickness so a little modding was needed.
When looking from the outside now, you can see the Caramel on the top of the door cards as it butts up to the black exterior which i think looks really nice.
